Babies Gather at Chubu Centrair International Airport! The "Crawling Race" Energized the Airport!

Chubu Centrair International Airport Co., Ltd. (Location: Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Hironori Kagohashi) held a parent-child participation event, the "Crawling Race in Centrair," where babies energetically aimed for the goal in the open atmosphere of the airport, over two days on Saturday, March 28th and Sunday, March 29th.

This event was planned with the desire for families to enjoy cheering on the adorable crawling of babies, a sight only seen during the limited period before they start walking, and to make their "Centrair debut" a special memory. The "Crawling Race," a particularly popular program among the parent-child participation events "Chibikko Challenge Cup" previously held at Centrair, was held as a standalone event for the first time.

Race Overview

A total of 280 babies participated in the race over two days. As the reservation time approached, babies and their families gathered one after another at the reception, and the venue was filled with a lively atmosphere. The stroller parking area gradually filled up, indicating the high level of interest in the event.

＜Race Start!＞

Each race lasted for 2 minutes. After the start, dads and moms could not touch their babies and went to the goal side to cheer them on with only their voices. Parents desperately calling out "Over here!" and "Come on!" were seen everywhere, and the venue was filled with excitement and smiles.

In the hands of dads and moms were their babies' favorite toys and snacks. The babies crawled diligently towards their favorite treats!

At the venue, there were babies who spontaneously stood up to cheer for their friends, babies who lay down midway, babies who ignored their parents' cheers, and babies who cried, each showing their unique and adorable personalities. The race, filled with various expressions, became a heartwarming moment overflowing with the warm smiles of participants and spectators.

After the hard-fought race, the first-place baby was awarded a certificate. In addition, all participating babies received a participation prize through a lottery with no empty tickets, including baby wipes, mini towels, and Centrair Friends goods. It was impressive to see all the babies, released from the tension of the race, being held by their parents and sweetly clinging to them with a sense of relief.

The "Crawling Race" is a particularly popular program among the parent-child participation events "Chibikko Challenge Cup" that we have held at Centrair. The heartwarming sight of babies crawling along a designated course, aiming for the goal while being cheered on by their families, has been very well received by all participants. This was the first time we held this race as a standalone event, and many families participated over the two days, filling the venue with babies' smiles and cheers, making it a great success.

Chubu Centrair International Airport will continue to work with the community through various events to make the airport feel more familiar and accessible.
