■ What is Cellular Agriculture?
Cellular Agriculture is a novel method of producing foods and materials, which were previously obtained from livestock and crops, by harnessing the power of "cells" and "microorganisms." A prime example is "cell-based food" technology, where meat is produced by cultivating animal cells instead of raising and slaughtering animals. These technologies are not only expected to be a means to reduce future food shortages and environmental burdens but also hold the potential to create "unprecedented new foods." In recent years, research and development as well as commercialization have been advancing worldwide, making it a highly anticipated field that could significantly change the future of our food system.

■ About the Cellular Agriculture Conference
The Cellular Agriculture Institute of Japan holds an annual conference on cellular agriculture. This conference brings together researchers, startups, corporations, and policymakers, providing a platform to share the latest trends and network. It has consistently attracted between 200 and 300 participants each time.
For this 8th iteration, in addition to reporting on conventional research results, we are planning a program structure that strongly focuses on "social implementation and commercialization."

■ Theme of this Conference: Bringing "Future Food" to Current Business
Technologies surrounding cellular agriculture, such as cell-based foods (cultivated meat) and precision fermentation, are rapidly advancing. On the other hand, complex challenges regarding social implementation, such as "safety evaluation," "legal regulations," and "market acceptance," are becoming evident.
In this conference, addressing these challenges from the perspective of "how to establish them as viable businesses," we will unfold discussions that delve deeply into the connection between research, regulation, and business.

■ Main Session Topics (Partial List)
Safety Evaluation and Legal Regulations of Cell-Based Foods
Market Strategies for Cellular Agriculture from the Perspective of Social Acceptance
The Current State of Business Expansion by Domestic and International Startups
