Figaro Japon is holding the BWA Pitch Contest again this year, which started in 2022 with the theme "Putting Thoughts into Words." What we value is not the scale or completeness of the business, but the "Attitude" – "why you are doing that business."
Expressing to society, in your own words, what kind of future you want to create through your business.
That experience will lead to your next step.
This year, the 5th edition, we are recruiting participants in the following three categories.
Applications are widely accepted for all categories, including side businesses and individual initiatives.
1. Dream Category
Targeted at women in the pre-startup to early-stage phase (目安: within 1 year of founding) who have a strong awareness of social and daily issues and a will to realize solutions. Applications are also accepted from those before starting a business or at the idea level.
2. Professional Category
Targeted at women (目安: within 5 years of founding) who already have a certain form of business, are continuously active while having contact with customers and society. This category provides opportunities for further growth and development.
3. Intrapreneurship Category
Targeted at women who are engaged in new businesses or projects while belonging to a company. This category evaluates the "Attitude" of those who seek to bring about change through their own will, while confronting existing frameworks and assumptions.
Finalists who pass the document screening will participate in the final selection round held in Tokyo on Wednesday, July 22. They will present their business ideas in a pitch, and based on the deliberation of the judges, winners will be selected for each category. In addition to the above three categories, an "Audience Award" determined by audience votes will also be held this year.
Details of the pitches will be broadcast through Figaro Japon's media and live streaming, reaching a wide audience.
Finalists will receive:
- Media exposure, such as article features in Figaro Japon,
- Participation in the BWA community with senior entrepreneurs and advisors,
- Support for presentations and self-production.
The Figaro Japon BWA secretariat will provide multi-faceted support for the realization and promotion of their businesses.

Additionally, a free online seminar, "How to turn your ideas into a business plan," will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 20:00 to 21:00. You will learn how to transform "ideas that have not yet taken shape" into a business plan. The seminar can also be viewed in the archive. We encourage anyone considering applying for the pitch contest to participate.
