[From the Editor-in-Chief]

President Trump's statements regarding the attack on Iran have been constantly changing. He has unilaterally postponed the ceasefire negotiation deadline three times in the past. The new deadline is approaching at 8:00 PM on the 7th (9:00 AM on the 8th, Japan time), but it is uncertain whether the 'hell' that Trump and Secretary of Defense Hegseth speak of will truly be unleashed upon Iran. This situation arose in the first place from the Trump administration's misreading of Iran's national conditions and capabilities. The assassination of Supreme Leader Khamenei was supposed to give rise to a new, negotiable regime, but instead, it has prompted a move toward a more hardline military state. The people, who were supposed to be fed up with the authoritarian regime, are instead uniting, saying, 'Let's remember the revolutionary spirit'... In the special feature of the April 7 issue, 'Trump's Great Miscalculation,' we analyze the April 1 television address, which was panned as 'empty,' and consider the future developments of the Iran war, for which an exit is becoming increasingly invisible.
