Umeda Tsutaya Bookstore (Kita-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture) will release a new limited original ink, the first in six years, at its stationery floor starting July 1, 2026 (Wed), available both in-store and via its online store.

Inspired by traditional lucky charms and subtle elegance, two original inks have been created in collaboration with Kyoto-based stationery manufacturer TAG STATIONERY. The lineup includes "Fukujyu"—the first laminated ink in the Umeda Tsutaya Bookstore original ink series—and "Yushu," a gray-based shade with hints of reddish-purple, designed for everyday use.

To commemorate the launch, the stationery floor will host a special fair and offer a workshop where visitors can mix their own custom ink.

From writing characters to drawing illustrations, we invite you to enjoy your personal moments of "writing" with these meticulously crafted inks.

Following last year’s release of the "10th Anniversary Commemorative Original Ink Reissue Set," we were inspired to create new ink products. This year, marking the 11th anniversary of Umeda Tsutaya Bookstore, we collaborated for the first time with Kyoto-based stationery maker TAG STATIONERY, drawing on themes of auspiciousness and refined elegance. This collaboration has brought new innovations, including our first laminated ink and practical everyday colors.

The stationery floor will also host a special fair to celebrate the ink launch, featuring products that encourage customers’ curiosity and desire to create.

We’ve designed everything from packaging to bottle labels from scratch, pouring our hearts into every detail.

Ink Workshop Details

The stationery floor will host an ink workshop led by TAG STATIONERY.

This workshop uses a unique method based on the color-mixing expertise of traditional Kyoto Yuzen artisans. Instead of the standard three primary colors (red, blue, yellow), it employs six harmonizing base colors, allowing anyone to easily express subtle color nuances.
