This exhibition aims to convey the current state and challenges of protected cat activities, and to promote the charm of both books and cats through the proposal of books related to "cats." The goal is for visitors to deepen their understanding of protected cat activities and to create opportunities for new encounters between protected cats and people.
Panels featuring photos of cats we have protected will be displayed.
"Cute" alone cannot save them.
In recent years, the term "protected cat" has become widely known, and facilities where people can interact with cats, such as "protected cat cafes," have increased. However, requests to "protect cats" continue unabated, and the burden on the front lines remains heavy.
Currently, CATS WELCARE protects approximately 80 cats.
These cats not only require daily feeding and medical expenses, but also new families. There are limits to the environments that can accept them, and the reality is that not all lives can be saved.
Through this exhibition, we aim to inform many people about this situation and provide an opportunity to think about a society where cats and people can live happily together.
Cats living in various difficult situations.
We look forward to welcoming you with many cat books.
CATS WELCARE's representative is also a practicing pediatrician.
For a brighter future for animals, we want children, who will lead society, to learn the importance of life and develop compassion for vulnerable beings — with this in mind, we are active.
In modern society, real-life connections between people are becoming weaker, and more people are feeling lonely. The choice to live with a companion animal not only brings happiness to the animals but also provides great warmth and fulfillment to the human heart.
In this exhibition, the representative herself has selected recommended books from among the "cat" related books she has read.
For small children, it conveys that cats have warm "hearts" just like us. For adults, it offers insights into the reality of protected cats that cannot be described by "cute" alone, important things to consider when living with cats, and hints for dealing with problems.
If you have time, please come and see them in person.
We have connected 400 cats so far. Many more cats are waiting for help.

Organization Overview and Background
NPO CATS WELCARE was established as a voluntary organization in Osaka in 2019 and became an NPO in 2023. Its main activities are to provide safe havens for unprivileged cats through protection and adoption activities and to guide them to happy homes.
We are continuously active daily, rescuing cats from multi-cat hoarding situations, protecting cats left behind due to elderly hospitalization, and protecting stray cats persecuted in the community. So far, we have connected approximately 400 cats to new homes.
However, requests for protection are endless and are even increasing year by year.
In recent years, although the terms "protected cat" and "protected cat cafe" have become widely recognized due to media influence, there is still a strong image that they are "special places visited only by a select few with a specific purpose," and they are not yet fully accepted as places where anyone can easily drop by.
In this situation, to help more people learn about protected cats, become interested, and welcome them into their homes, we opened "Holy House," a new concept protected cat facility, in April 2025.
Here, we hold various events and hope that many people will use them in various ways to feel closer to protected cats.
