Cathay (Headquarters: Hong Kong; CEO: Ronald Lam), through its airline business Cathay Pacific, resumed direct flight operations between Hong Kong and Seattle, USA, on March 30, 2026. Operating five times a week, this route serves as the only direct flight connecting the airline's home base of Hong Kong with Seattle, a vibrant hub of culture and technology in Washington State.

With this addition, Cathay's passenger network in North America expands to a total of nine cities: Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Toronto, Vancouver, and now Seattle. This summer, the airline will operate approximately 120 round-trip flights per week to these nine North American destinations.

The Hong Kong–Seattle route is operated by the Airbus A350-900, offering a full-flat bed in Business Class, spacious seating in Premium Economy, and a comfortable travel experience in its world-renowned Economy Class.

As part of Cathay's 80th-anniversary celebrations, the inaugural flight of the resumed Hong Kong–Seattle route was operated by a special Airbus A350 aircraft featuring the iconic "lettuce sandwich" livery. This special livery honors the 80-year history of supporting Hong Kong, its people, and its customers since the company's founding in 1946.
