iReco 55DR: High-end drive recorder with 4K 360° x 3 camera configuration
Designed Based on 11 Years of Review Data from Hundreds of Models iReco Developed Under the Leadership of Drive Recorder Specialty Media "LaBoon!!"
iReco is not just a "media-supervised model."
Car and Car Accessories Research Lab LaBoon!!
Based on data accumulated over 11 years of hands-on reviews and long-term testing of hundreds of models by Car and Car Accessories Research Lab LaBoon!!,
- Whether essential information is retained in case of an accident
- Whether parking surveillance is practically feasible
This drive recorder is designed from these fundamental principles.
Furthermore, iReco adopts a new approach to the traditional parking surveillance challenge of "power consumption": low-power parking surveillance using radar detection.
Development Background: The Difficulty of Balancing "Image Quality" and "Parking Surveillance" in Drive Recorders
In recent years, while drive recorders have seen advancements in image quality, issues with power consumption and operational challenges of parking surveillance functions have been pointed out.
Through 11 years of testing hundreds of drive recorder models, LaBoon!! has confirmed numerous problems such as:
- High image quality but impractical parking surveillance
- Functional parking surveillance but insufficient evidentiary capability
iReco is designed to solve these real-world usage challenges.
Defining High-End by Evidentiary Capability and Operability, Not Specs
High-end is not about accumulating specs, but about reliably functioning when needed.
iReco is designed with the philosophy of eliminating real-world usage bottlenecks in image quality, operability, parking surveillance, and media management.
Overcoming the Weaknesses of 360° Drive Recorders with 4K, 8 Megapixel Resolution
iReco 55DR: 4K 360° x 3 camera configuration, HDR compatible
The Challenge with 360°: Insufficient Forward Image Quality
While 360° drive recorders can capture a wide area at once, their weakness is often insufficient resolution for the forward view because pixels are spread across a large area.
License plate recognition performance, in particular, can vary significantly between models, and it can be difficult to read plates with typical 4-megapixel 360° models.
Adopting IMX678 (4K, 8 Megapixel) for the Front Camera
iReco uses a 4K, 8-megapixel sensor (SONY STARVIS 2 IMX678) for its front camera.
While recording in 360°, it is designed to achieve license plate recognition performance equivalent to or better than conventional wide-angle full HD drive recorders.
iReco 55DR: Verification results for license plate recognition accuracy
"3-Piece Separate" Design to Reduce Installation Constraints
iReco 55DR: Rare 3-piece separate structure
Enables "Optimal Placement" Difficult with Integrated Units
iReco features a 3-piece separate configuration, with independent front, interior, and rear cameras.
This design is less affected by vehicle model or interior layout, allowing each camera to be placed in the optimal position, balancing visibility and recording performance.
iReco 55DR: 360° all-around recording with no blind spots
iReco 55DR: Actual recorded footage from the interior camera
One Interior Camera Supports Two Types of Operation
The interior camera is typically installed facing the inside of the car to record the cabin environment.
iReco 55DR: Example installation of the interior camera on the windshield
With an optional extension cable, it can also be installed facing forward on the rear windshield.

This "one camera, two roles" design philosophy allows for flexible use depending on the purpose and vehicle configuration.
*Extension cable scheduled for release in May 2026.
Security LED for Enhanced Crime Prevention
The front camera is equipped with a 360° 4K sensor. Additionally, a large security LED on the front clearly indicates that parking surveillance is active.
iReco 55DR: Security LED expected to deter crime

All 3 Cameras Equipped with STARVIS 2 x HDR
iReco 55DR: SONY STARVIS 2 sensor equipped, IMX678 8 Megapixel
Capturing Information in Scenes with High Contrast, Such as Night and Backlight
All three cameras (front, interior, rear) on the iReco are compatible with SONY STARVIS 2 sensors.
Furthermore, with HDR processing, the image quality is optimized to retain information even in scenes with high contrast, such as at night or in backlight.
iReco 55DR: HDR correction prevents overexposure
iReco 55DR: Brightness at night with STRVIS 2 sensor
Dedicated "iReco Viewer" Supports Brightness Adjustment
Recorded data can be played back using the PC-based iReco viewer, which allows for brightness enhancement (correction).
iReco Viewer: Urban area at night
iReco Viewer: Dark area at night
This reflects the philosophy of designing not just for the "moment of recording" but also for the "moment of review."
*iReco Viewer is compatible with Windows 10/11 (Mac version under consideration).
Operability You Can Feel: 3.5-inch IPS Touch Panel
Prioritizing "Immediate Playback Without Hesitation" After an Accident
iReco features a large 3.5-inch IPS LCD with a capacitive touch panel.
Equipped with a 3.5-inch IPS touch panel LCD
While many models are shifting towards smartphone connectivity and smaller screens, iReco prioritizes the completeness of on-device operation, designed for immediate playback at the scene of an accident as a fundamental performance feature.
Preventing "Menu Navigation Hell" with Visibility and Intuitive Operation
The IPS panel ensures wide viewing angles and minimal color shift.
It aims for an intuitive user interface that prevents the operational errors and menu confusion common with physical button systems.
Four Parking Surveillance Modes Including Radar Detection
Radar Detection + Impact Detection (Optional): Low Power Standby Approx. 0.2W
When the radar unit detects movement in the vicinity, the main unit quickly activates and starts recording in approximately 2.5 seconds.
Standby power consumption is as low as approximately 0.2W, making it suitable for applications prioritizing long-term surveillance or reducing the burden on the auxiliary battery.
Microwave radar parking surveillance
Example installation of the radar unit
Also Includes Motion Detection / Time Lapse / Low Power Impact Detection
Supports various parking surveillance modes
- Motion Detection + Impact Detection: Records when changes are detected within the frame.
- Time Lapse + Impact Detection: Continuous 1fps recording + normal recording upon impact.
- Low Power Quick Impact Detection: Low power consumption, detects only impacts and records (not available when radar is connected).
The goal is "operational parking surveillance" that includes the ability to choose based on the situation and easy switching.
Battery Protection Function for Parking Surveillance
Timer Setting: From 30 Minutes to 24 Hours, or Always ON
The operating time for parking surveillance can be set from 30 minutes to 24 hours (including Always ON).
