Artist's Message: Sato Tokihiro (born 1957 in Yamagata Prefecture) completed his master's degree in sculpture at Tokyo University of the Arts. He is known for his light-based expressions focusing on the structure of photography. He has held major solo exhibitions at Sakata City Museum (1999), Art Institute of Chicago (2005), Frist Center for the Visual Arts (2010), Tokyo Photographic Art Museum (2014), and Hachinohe City Museum (2022). He is a recipient of the 65th Geijutsu Sensho Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award, Professor Emeritus at Tokyo University of the Arts, and Director of the Domon Ken Photography Museum.
