About Wild Turkey

Wild Turkey is a premium bourbon and rye whiskey brand representing Kentucky.

The brand name originates from 1942 when Thomas McCarthy, then president of Austin Nichols Company, served his prized 101-proof bourbon (50.5% alcohol) to his turkey hunting companions, leading to it being called 'Wild Turkey.'

Its characteristics include a spicy flavor, a vanilla-like sweet aroma, and a smooth, well-balanced taste. The ingredients use a low corn ratio and abundant rye and barley malt. It is fermented with natural water filtered through limestone layers and homemade yeast, and aged in new barrels subjected to a strong charring called Alligator Char.

Currently, the brand's quality is maintained by three generations: Master Distiller Jimmy Russell, who was inducted into the Bourbon Hall of Fame in 2000, his son Eddie Russell, the co-Master Distiller, and Associate Master Blender Bruce Russell.

In Japan, the company offers a range of products, including the mainstay 'Bourbon 101,' '8 Year,' 'Standard,' 'Rye,' 'Rye 101,' 'Rare Breed,' and limited series.
