Calbee to Launch 5 Flagship Snacks in Limited-Edition Festival Packaging for 'Snack Day'

Calbee, Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Makoto Ehara) will sequentially switch the packaging of five products: 'Sapporo Potato Tsubutsubu Vegetable / Barbeque Flavor,' 'Sayaendou Salt Flavor,' 'Ganso Takoyakitei Traditional Sauce Flavor,' and 'Vegetaberu Light Salad Flavor' to special packaging inspired by 'Snack Day' on June 21. These limited-edition packages will be available starting the week of Monday, June 15, 2026.

## Background of Release

June 21 was designated as 'Snack Day' by the All Nippon Kashi Association to promote snack foods. This date originates from the custom of 'hagatame' (tooth hardening), which involves eating hard mochi from the New Year to celebrate the summer solstice. To coincide with this day, Calbee planned a project to gather its snack group and unify their packaging, releasing festival packaging for the first time last year. Following its excellent reception and an increase in sales, this year again features vibrant packaging with brand characters creating a summer festival atmosphere. This year, the addition of fortune slips promises to deliver an even more exciting and fun experience.

## Package Features

The package design depicts characters enjoying a summer festival. The back features fortune slips with a total of 18 patterns across 6 items × 3 types (Daikichi/Great Blessing, Chukichi/Middle Blessing, Shokichi/Small Blessing), making it enjoyable for parents, children, and friends.

- Tsubu-kun & Barbe-kun
Brand characters of 'Sapporo Potato.' They are shaped like the products and are active on the back of the package.

- Sayaendou-kun
Brand character of 'Sayaendou.' Loves the sun and gentle breeze. Diligent personality ('mame' in Japanese, a pun on beans).

- Octopus of Ganso Takoyakitei
Brand character of 'Takoyakitei,' acting as the boss of a food stall.

- Veggie Heart
Brand character of 'Vegetaberu.' A fairy of 5 types of green and yellow vegetables, appearing in 3 colors: green, yellow, and red.
