Cainz Concludes Agreement with Nagoya City on Biodiversity and Nature Positive Initiatives

Cainz Corporation (Headquarters: Honjo City, Saitama Prefecture, Representative Director and CEO: Masayuki Takaie) announces that it has concluded an agreement with Nagoya City regarding "Cooperation on Businesses Contributing to Biodiversity and Nature Positive" (hereinafter, this Agreement), and will begin selling native species "Nagoya no Nae" at five stores within the city. This Agreement aims to improve citizen services, promote the dissemination of biodiversity and Nature Positive, and realize a nature-harmonious society, by utilizing the respective resources and functions of Nagoya City and Cainz to promote businesses that contribute to biodiversity and Nature Positive. Based on this Agreement, through all five Cainz stores in Nagoya City, we will work to popularize the native species "Nagoya no Nae," which contributes to biodiversity greening (*), and contribute to promoting understanding of biodiversity. *Biodiversity greening: Greening that considers habitats, feeding grounds, and resting places for living creatures. ## What is Nature Positive? Nature Positive is an international goal that aims to halt and reverse the loss of biodiversity. Nagoya City made its "Nature Positive Declaration" in October 2023, the first designated city in Japan to do so, and is promoting various initiatives for the popularization and understanding of native species. ## Sales of "Nagoya no Nae" Based on this Agreement, native species "Nagoya no Nae" (such as Liriope, Gardenia, and Japanese Andromeda), which contribute to biodiversity greening, will be sold at all five Cainz stores in Nagoya City. Dedicated corners will be set up in stores, and efforts will be made to promote and raise awareness by displaying posters and attaching "Nagoya no Nae" stickers to target products. **** All five stores in Nagoya City (Nagoya Minato Store, Nagoya Hotta Store, Nagoya Odaka Inter Store, Nagoya Moriyama Store, Nagoya Tochi Store) **** Sales will commence sequentially from Monday, March 30, 2026. **** Monday, March 30, 2026, to Wednesday, March 31, 2027. Verification will be conducted during the trial period, and full-scale operation is planned to transition based on the results.
