About the International Vocal Competition Tokyo
The 6th competition will be held in 2026, marking its 18th year since its predecessor, the Tokyo International Vocal Competition.
The competition, which started in 2009 with 3 divisions (high school, university, and general - now Grand Prix) and a total of 141 applicants, grew to 1123 participants (from 7 nationalities) in 18 divisions last year, its 17th year.
Professionals, aspiring professionals, and amateurs challenge and compete in classical vocal music, musicals, and ensemble singing. With diverse ages and goals, it is Japan's largest vocal music competition where people who learn to sing gather.
