Karin and Songs and Musicals!" on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at "JZ Brat (Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel 2F)" in Tokyo. "Student × Instructor, A Dream Collaboration! Karin and Songs and Musicals!" This is the 19th installment of the Cafetalk Concert Series – a dream collaboration between a Cafetalk student and instructor! Karin and Songs and Musicals! This musical recital features Karin Hashizume, a high school student currently studying abroad in Florida, USA, who is dedicated to her studies and musicals after taking vocal lessons on "Cafetalk," Japan's largest online lesson platform, and Saya-sensei (Saya Kawashima) of Cafetalk, Karin's first vocal coach. See Details This is an original recital, "Karin-style Entertainment Live," where Karin looks back on her recent life in the US, her childhood encounter with singing, and introduces various musical works and songs. Her esteemed teacher, Saya Kawashima, will be joined by Yuki Hatano on drums and Nami Hisada on piano. Main Vocal: Karin Hashizume First-year high school student. Started singing in the US during childhood and became devoted to musical theater after returning to Japan. Played the role of Ron in "Ron no Hanazono" by the Children's Theater Big Dream, won 1st place in the Musical Division (Junior High School) at the 3rd Tokyo International Orchestra and Vocal Competition, 1st place in the Musical Division (A) at the 4th Basel International Vocal Competition, and won the 47th & 73rd SMASH CABARET, among other achievements. Has appeared in various musicals and singing events. Currently studying abroad in Florida, USA. Guest Vocal: Saya Kawashima Born in Sapporo. Graduated from Hokkaido University of Education, Iwamizawa Campus, Department of Arts, Music Course, Vocal Performance. Completed her master's degree at the same university's graduate school. Won 1st place in the Vocal Division, University Section, Hokkaido Tournament at the 65th All Japan Student Music Competition, and 2nd place nationwide. Performed the national anthem solo at the Panasonic Cup 66th Mainichi Koshien Bowl. She is highly regarded for her crossover performance style that transcends genres, not only in opera and classical stages. In recent years, she has served as the vocalist for the big band Jimmy All Stars, performing at venues such as COTTONCLUB and BLUE NOTE Tokyo. She has also conducted over 5,000 online vocal lessons and appeared as a vocal trainer on Asahi Broadcasting Corporation TV's "Narumi & Okamura's Sugiru TV." She was Karin's first vocal coach.
