RUEED / Mastermind CEO, Reggae Deejay
RUEED, a reggae deejay with over 20 years of experience since picking up the microphone at age 15, has expanded his activities from his hometown of Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, to Tokyo, and even to Jamaica, the home of reggae. In 2023, marking his 20th anniversary, he took on the challenge of holding an outdoor music festival, 'Yokosuka Reggae Bash,' in his hometown. The concept of this event, which continues to be held, is "sowing seeds for the future." We interviewed RUEED about his journey and his thoughts on the "seeds" he continues to sow in his hometown.
We hope this will serve as an inspiration and motivation for your creative endeavors.

1) Sowing Seeds for the Future with Reggae
RUEED's encounter with reggae began with a live ticket he received from his older brother. After the live performance, he became deeply involved in hip-hop, but gradually shifted to the world of reggae due to the influence of those around him. He started writing and composing his own music, saying, "I can do it even without money." He began his career as a musician at age 15. About thinc Journal
thinc Journal is a media that disseminates information about creators and creative works that aim to solve regional issues and energize local communities. We focus on "people and things" and spotlight creators active in various regions, providing information to help freelance creators nationwide build their careers. Many talented creators are active across the country. However, unlike advertisements for major companies, their work has often struggled to gain widespread attention because the user base is not "Mass." In recent years, as user communication increasingly idealizes a one-to-one format, local creative works in various regions and communities have finally begun to attract attention. Since its establishment, Creators Match has aimed for "local production for local consumption of creativity" and has expanded its creator network nationwide. We will shine a spotlight from our unique perspective, having observed regional creativity.
