Our company supports April Dream, which aims to make April 1st a day for sharing dreams. This press release is a dream of General Incorporated Association Tsutsutsutsutsu.
We, General Incorporated Association Tsutsutsutsutsu (Headquarters: Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture; Representative Director: Masahiro Furuyama), advocate the dream of 'overcoming language barriers non-verbally' and will increase moments of 'understanding' in society through the power of communication that does not rely on words.

Today, with the evolution of AI and translation apps, language-based communication has significantly advanced, making communication freer and enabling interaction with people worldwide. However, as more people with diverse backgrounds join society, it is also true that there are limits to verbal communication. For example, it is not easy to accurately convey differences in pain onomatopoeia, such as "zukizuki" (throbbing), "chikuchiku" (prickling), and "hirihiri" (stinging), to a doctor using only language.
By overcoming these barriers in language-based interactions through the power of non-verbal communication, utilizing emojis, gestures, illustrations, and pictograms, we aim to promote multicultural coexistence and creative dialogue in medical care, education, businesses, and local communities.
◾️Before "not understanding" leads to isolation.
"Where and how does it hurt?"
Many people pause at this question, unable to find the perfect words for their internal sensations.
In the world, there are delicate sensations that cannot be contained by existing words, and unique expressions not found in dictionaries. No matter how accurately translation apps can convert words, they often cannot fully convey the nuance of what a person "truly wants to communicate."
This small discrepancy of "not being able to fit into words" gradually makes it difficult for someone to rely on others.
Such boundaries, before we know it, create distance.
Thoughts remain in places where words cannot reach. That is the scene we are currently facing.
We believe that by accumulating moments of understanding through non-verbal communication such as emojis, pictograms, and body language, in medical care, education, local communities, and daily life, we can create a future that transcends language barriers.
◾️Current Project Overview

①Medical Interpretation Book 'HELP YOU'
'HELP YOU' is a pointing communication book designed to help patients who are not fluent in Japanese accurately convey their symptoms and sensations at medical institutions.
It was created using over 130 illustrations and pictograms and has been adopted by over 800 universities and medical institutions nationwide. Currently, it is available in three languages: English, Chinese, and Easy Japanese, with new language editions scheduled for publication this autumn.
②Medical Institution Search App 'Mikke'
'Mikke' is an app that helps foreign residents and non-Japanese speakers smoothly find medical institutions where they can receive treatment. It has registered 216 facilities, mainly in Niigata Prefecture and the Hamamatsu area of Shizuoka Prefecture, contributing to creating an environment accessible to approximately 44,000 non-Japanese speakers. It supports four languages: Japanese, English, Chinese, and Portuguese.

③Non-verbal Workshop 'Kotoba no Hogushi' (Loosening Words)
'Kotoba no Hogushi' is a workshop that offers experiential learning about communication methods that do not rely too heavily on words. It is deployed in a wide range of fields, including local governments, universities, corporate human resource development, and community development sites.
In this program, participants intentionally limit words and communicate using emojis, gestures, illustrations, and sounds. Participants develop both the ability to interpret rules and intentions from signals emitted by others and the ability to express their own thoughts and ideas through appropriate means.
◾️A Future Where Dreams Come True
This is a society where non-verbal communication is firmly established as a power to overcome language barriers. It is a future where every small sign from each individual is conveyed directly as "warmth" in all places, such as local communities, and even the smallest thoughts are gently passed into someone's hands.
And beyond that, it's not just a future that transcends differences in mother tongue and culture. It's a future where everyone tries to approach others, feeling their "warmth" rather than drawing lines of "I don't understand" or "It seems difficult" towards those whom society has not yet encountered, values that have not yet been named, and even unknown beings like extraterrestrial life.
