Bywill Inc. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yuichiro Shimomura), which promotes economic circulation utilizing environmental value with the aim of creating a world where "GX is desirable," has signed a "Partnership Agreement to Promote Regional Decarbonization and Resource Circulation in Aridagawa Town Utilizing Environmental Value" with Aridagawa Town, Wakayama Prefecture (Mayor: Norihiko Sakato; hereinafter referred to as "Aridagawa Town") and The Kiyo Bank, Ltd. (Head Office: Wakayama City, Wakayama Prefecture; Director and President: Hiroyuki Haraguchi; hereinafter referred to as "Kiyo Bank").
Based on this agreement, the three parties will work on the creation and distribution of environmental value, including J-Credits (Note 1), and the creation of new business models.
Note 1: The J-Credit System is a system in which the Japanese government certifies greenhouse gas emission reductions achieved through the introduction of energy-saving and renewable energy equipment, and greenhouse gas absorption achieved through appropriate forest management, as "J-Credits." Issued J-Credits can be traded with other companies, and purchasers can use them to achieve their own greenhouse gas reduction targets.
[Date of Agreement]
June 26, 2026 (Fri)
[Agreement Details]
With the aim of contributing to the realization of carbon neutrality and a circular economy in the region, the three parties will cooperate on the following matters:

[Background of Agreement]
Aridagawa Town declared "Aridagawa Town Zero Carbon City Declaration" on June 5, 2024 (Wed), aiming for net zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050. To achieve this, the town is actively working on the utilization of renewable energy, energy saving, and waste reduction.
Furthermore, Kiyo Bank and Bywill signed a "Partnership Agreement on Carbon Credits" in March 2024, and have been working together towards regional decarbonization. Through Kiyo Bank's introduction of Bywill to Aridagawa Town, this partnership agreement has been reached to promote the creation and utilization of J-Credits, which will be a new initiative for Aridagawa Town.

[Future Outlook]
Aiming to realize Aridagawa Town's Zero Carbon City, the three parties will cooperate to promote the creation and distribution of J-Credits. Regarding the method for creating J-Credits (methodology), we are considering starting with the introduction of LED equipment, and then expanding to creation using other methodologies.
Bywill will seamlessly support the registration and application of J-Credit creation projects in Aridagawa Town, as well as monitoring and sales of the created credits. In addition, in terms of sales, we will cooperate with Kiyo Bank to promote the decarbonization of Aridagawa Town and other regions through "local production for local consumption."
