ByWill Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Yuichiro Shimomura; hereinafter "ByWill"), which aims to create a "world where people want to engage in GX (Green Transformation)" and promotes economic circulation utilizing environmental value, has signed a partnership agreement regarding environmental value with Kanie Town, Aichi Prefecture (Mayor: Junichi Yokoe; hereinafter "Kanie Town").

Based on this agreement, both parties will work on the creation and distribution of environmental value, including J-Credits (*1), and the development of new business models.

*1: J-Credits are greenhouse gas emission reduction and absorption amounts (such as CO2) obtained through decarbonization activities by businesses—such as the introduction of energy-saving equipment or the use of renewable energy—that have been certified by the government as "credits." Issued credits can be sold to other companies, and purchasers can use them for carbon offsetting.

【Agreement Details】 Both parties will cooperate on the following matters with the aim of contributing to the realization of carbon neutrality and a circular economy in the region:

【Background of the Agreement】 In March 2025, Kanie Town formulated the "3rd Kanie Town Global Warming Countermeasures Execution Plan (Administrative Business Edition)," which outlines global warming countermeasures for the town's administrative operations through fiscal year 2030. To achieve these goals, the town is implementing initiatives such as reducing electricity consumption in public facilities and replacing official vehicles with electric vehicles.

This partnership agreement was reached to advance the creation and utilization of J-Credits, which is a new initiative for Kanie Town.

【Future Outlook】 With the goal of decarbonizing Kanie Town, both parties will collaborate to promote the creation and distribution of J-Credits. Regarding the methodology for creating J-Credits, the town is considering starting with the installation of LED equipment, with plans to expand to other methodologies thereafter.

ByWill will provide seamless support for the Kanie Town J-Credit creation project, from registration and application to monitoring and the sale of the generated credits. Regarding sales, the company will promote the decarbonization of the region, including Kanie Town, through "local production for local consumption."
