Bungeishunju Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Naruyuki Iikubo) has decided to release Keigo Higashino's latest Galileo series novel, 'Eternal Memory,' on August 5, 2026 (Wed).

The latest novel presents 'Galileo's Final Mystery.'

◆ Synopsis

Kaoru Utsumi was stabbed.

The assailant is an elderly man, about 70 years old. He attempted suicide by jumping but failed,

and remains silent during interrogation.

Soon, a young woman harboring resentment towards Utsumi emerges as a suspect,

but her relationship with the old man is unclear. Furthermore, the true revenge against Utsumi was yet to come.

What was the 'ultimate choice' she was forced to make?

Meanwhile, Yukawa and Kusanagi, using an 'item the old man possessed' as a clue,

open the door to a 'mystery that must not be forgotten.'

Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1958. Graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Osaka Prefecture University. Debuted in 1985 with 'After School,' winning the Edogawa Rampo Prize. Received the Mystery Writers of Japan Award for 'Himitsu' in 1999, the Naoki Prize for 'The Devotion of Suspect X' in 2006, the Shibata Renzaburo Award for 'The Miracles of the Namiya General Store' in 2012, the Yoshikawa Eiji Prize for Literature for 'When the Prayers End' in 2014, and the Japan Mystery Literature Award in 2024. In 2023, his cumulative domestic circulation exceeded 100 million copies. He was awarded the Medal with Purple Ribbon in the same year.

In addition to the Galileo series, including 'The Salvation of a Saint,' 'Midsummer's Equation,' 'Parade of Silence,' and 'The Transparent Spiral,' he has authored numerous other works such as 'Seven Days Spent with a Witch,' 'Who Killed You,' 'The Black Showman and the Awakening Women,' 'Fictitious Crime,' 'The Goddess of the Camphor Tree,' and 'Masquerade Life.'
