◆ About the Work

Natsuo Kirino's latest work is set in the "Korean entertainment industry."

While K-POP and Korean dramas are globally popular and achieve great success, negative aspects such as excessive handling of scandals and contract disputes are also frequently discussed.

In this work, the downfall of a man who experiences ruin after reaching the pinnacle of glory – Nadan – is narrated through the monologue of actor Taelmin.

A K-pop star who traveled the world and was subsequently banished from the entertainment industry. Its light and shadow, life and death – an introspective novel painted with overwhelming saturation.

■ About the Book Cover

Cover illustration and design by Fumihira Joi. The night sky at the bottom was created by punching countless holes in black drawing paper and illuminating it from behind to represent the stars. A single shooting star and the title are rendered in holographic foil stamping, superimposed with Nadan's figure falling with overwhelming brilliance.

■ Author's Comment

"This work is about the downfall of Nadan, who is described as a 'finished man,' but Taelmin, the viewpoint character, also changes. In the process of playing 'the role that is demanded' within the entertainment industry, both Nadan and Taelmin lose themselves and deviate from their original selves. It's a dual structure where the narrator, Taelmin, and the narrated, Nadan, both transform. And this isn't limited to 'entertainers' like them; perhaps we who live in general society are also like that."
