Bungeishunju (Headquarters: Kioicho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Naruyuki Iikubo) is holding a present campaign for Kuniko Mukoda's 45th death anniversary, from April 1, 2026 (Wednesday) to December 31, 2026 (Thursday), for her works published under 'Bunshun Bunko'. The campaign aims to convey the enduring charm of Mukoda's works.

Born in Tokyo in 1929 (Showa 4). Graduated from Jissen Women's College, Japanese Language Department. After working as an editor for a film magazine, she became a broadcast writer, active in radio and television. Her representative works include "Daikon no Hana", "Shichinin no Mago", "Terauchi Kantaro Ikka", and "Ashura no Gotoku". In 1980 (Showa 55), she received the 83rd Naoki Prize for her short stories "Hana no Namae", "Kawauso", and "Inugoya", commencing her career as a novelist. She passed away suddenly in an airplane accident in August 1981 (Showa 56). Her numerous books include "Chichi no Wabijo", "Mumei Karininmeibo", "Reichorui Hitoka Doubutsu Zukan", "Nemuru Sakazuki", "Omoide Trump", and "A-Un". Besides her literary works, books and mooks focusing on her lifestyle and fashion have also been published. Special exhibitions are held in milestone years, continuing to attract many people even today.
