Starting from the first collection exhibition of fiscal year 2026, The National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto has opened two new spaces within its Collection Gallery: 'MoMAK Masters' and the 'Lice Room'.

### MoMAK Masters 'MoMAK Masters' is a new section introducing masterpieces from The National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto (MoMAK). Visitors can enjoy a wide variety of excellent works, ranging from familiar pieces representing the 'face' of our museum to lesser-known masterpieces. Whether it's your first visit or you've been here many times, you can experience the profound world of modern art in this masterpiece corner.

In this exhibition, you can view a comprehensive display utilizing solely our collection. It features works such as 'Mr. Samsa's Walk' by Kazuo Yagi, an internationally acclaimed potter regarded as the most important figure in the post-war Japanese ceramics world; 'Young Ducks' (*first half of the period) by Seiho Takeuchi, a legend of the modern Kyoto art circle alongside Masanobu Kano of the Muromachi period and Okyo Maruyama of the Edo period; and works from the early to mature periods of Piet Mondrian, known as a pioneer of abstract painting.
