Plus Corporation (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Tadahisa Imaizumi) announced that its industrial complex facility, Plusland (Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture), has been certified as a "Nature Coexistence Site" under the "Act on Promotion of Biodiversity Conservation by Private Businesses, etc." on June 30, 2026. This act is overseen by the Ministry of the Environment, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.

Plusland is an industrial complex facility spanning approximately 460,000 square meters, located on the southern foothills of Mt. Akagi, on the outskirts of Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture. The site houses the Maebashi Factory, which manufactures office furniture, as well as a logistics center, offices, and training facilities. The Kanazawa River, a Class 1 river, flows through the facility, and diverse ecosystems, including forests, green spaces, and waterside environments, are preserved. Since the completion of the first phase of construction in 1991, we have been engaged in cleaning the Kanazawa River, establishing and maintaining biotopes, and conducting ecological surveys, along with efforts to manage the natural environment based on their results.

This certification recognizes our ongoing activities to maintain this rich natural environment and to conserve and restore biodiversity.

Moving forward, Plus will continue to contribute to the realization of a nature-positive society by conserving biodiversity at its business sites, including the Maebashi Factory, and will pass on a rich global environment to future generations through the promotion of nature positivity.

What is a "Nature Coexistence Site"?

A "Nature Coexistence Site" is a system by which the government certifies areas that contribute to biodiversity conservation. It evaluates the continuous conservation of the natural environment on land managed by private companies, local governments, and other entities. Certified areas, outside of protected areas, are positioned internationally as OECM (Other Effective area-based Conservation Measures) for their contribution to biodiversity conservation.

This system aims to achieve "nature positivity," which means halting biodiversity loss and reversing it towards recovery. It is one of the key measures to achieve the international goal of "30by30," which aims to conserve at least 30% of terrestrial and marine areas as healthy ecosystems by 2030.
