Solving Administrative Challenges for Onagawa Town, Miyagi Prefecture, with Water Smart Meters and a Water Portal Site

BSN iNet Co., Ltd. (President: Shunsuke Nagumo), in collaboration with Onagawa Town, Oshika District, Miyagi Prefecture (Mayor: Yoshiaki Suda) and the Distribution Department of Tohoku Electric Power Network Co., Inc. (General Manager: Shoichi Nagayama), has launched a pilot test for an automatic water meter reading service and water usage visualization using electric smart meters, aiming for full-scale operation by April 2027.

Through this pilot test, our company will support the promotion of digital transformation (DX) in water utility operations to address challenges such as the efficiency of meter reading and the shortage of meter readers.

Furthermore, we will leverage the knowledge gained from this demonstration to expand services aimed at solving social issues such as the labor shortage in an aging society, contributing to the realization of a secure regional environment and the development of the water utility business.

【What is the Water Portal?】

This service delivers water bills and usage information, which were previously notified on paper, via the web. It features functions that allow users to visually grasp past usage trends and payment status. This contributes to the promotion of DX in water utility operations.
