From 9 PM on Friday, April 3rd, the "Golf Survival" April tournament will feature the 98th class of JLPGA members who passed last year's professional test and are in their rookie year. Who will shine as the queen in this battle among those carrying the banner of being a 2026 rookie? Ten young female players, currently the most promising and having overcome the extremely difficult professional test with a pass rate of 2.9%, will clash!

The most notable presence is Kurebayashi Kurenai (20). She is a super rookie who passed the QT immediately after passing the professional test in first place, securing her participation in the first half of this year's season. This achievement of passing the professional test and topping the QT is only the second in history. Is her dynamic performance in Survival also certain?

Sugiyama Momo (23) was also one of the talked-about players in last year's professional test. She was 96th at 10 over par after the second day, but she played 11 under par in the latter two days, breaking through the difficult challenge at 1 under par, 15th place.

Players with previous Survival experience also passed last year's professional test. Narukawa Airi (27) will be making her second Survival appearance, and Kimura Madoka (27) and Sadayama Suzuka (25) will be making their third. The key will be whether they can leverage the strength of having experienced the unique tension.

Also noteworthy are Maeda Ai (23) and Yokoyama Suzuna (22), who achieved their long-cherished dream of passing; Takada Nao (22) and Tamura Morimi (18), who earned their professional tickets on their first attempt; and Morimura Miyu (19), whose father's strictness led to her success.

The battleground is Kanoyama Golf Club (Chiba Prefecture), which boasts a course exquisitely laid out to take advantage of nature. Professional golfers Masanori Kobayashi and Makoto Inoue will serve as commentators. How will these veteran pros assess the play of the rookies?

The oldest participating pro, Daisuke Matsubara (31), has mental strength cultivated through boxing as his strong point. In the 2019 Japan Professional Golf Championship, he temporarily rose to second place. In Survival, where mental strength is tested... pay attention to his fighting style.

Ten highly individual players have gathered: Daiki Masayama (22), who honed his skills at the Jumbo Ozaki Golf Academy as a second-generation student at Jumbo's residence; Daiki Uehara (29), burning with fighting spirit in his last year in his 20s; Daiki Otsuka (29), riding a wave of success with his personal best QT of 29; Taiga Harada (28), who suddenly gained attention with the best fairway-keeping rate in his tour debut at the Japan Professional Golf Championship (2022); Masahiro Mita (24), who has polished his skills through self-study without ever having a coach; and Chitaka Suzuki (24), who hones his skills on the China Tour, whose strong point is his draw ball that catches the wind.
