March 31st (Tuesday) marks the second part of a two-week special! We present 'A Nikko & Kinugawa Trip via SL Taiju'. The uneven journey of Tomoko, Rei of Nakagawa-ke, and enka singer Yuki Tokunaga. Unlike the first part where they enjoyed the latest Limited Express SPACIA X, the second part features a ride on the retro steam locomotive, SL Taiju, running in Nikko and Kinugawa. ■Tragedy Strikes Tokunaga on the SL Train

The latter half of the trip heads from Shimo-Imaichi Station towards Kinugawa Onsen. "We're riding the SL from here!" Tokunaga is enthusiastic, but immediately gets dejected upon learning that Rei has prior experience riding it. Taking a deep breath, they set off on their SL journey!

As expected for an SL, it's popular, with seats filled even on a weekday. A surprising ice cream is sold on board, which the three of them enjoy. Here, the conductor presents passengers with armbands labeled "Engineer." This is where an unexpected situation occurs for Tokunaga. The SL Taiju runs at a leisurely pace, like a stroll. After enjoying the 36-minute SL journey, the group arrives at Kinugawa Onsen Station. Their next plan is strawberry picking, but a working turntable stands right in front of the station. Filming takes place amidst the cold winds unique to this time of year in Northern Kanto. Even the usually enthusiastic Tokunaga retreats indoors, saying, "Let's warm up at a cafe," unable to wait for the train's arrival. They enjoy sweets, but Tomoko makes a witty remark about Tokunaga's peculiar way of eating them.

The group heads for strawberry picking. They visit Nikko Hana Ichimonme, which boasts the largest begonia garden north of the Kanto region. Currently, four varieties, including Tochiai and Tochihime, can be eaten on the spot.
