calif art gallery, the art division of Beams International (Headquarters: Meguro-ku, Tokyo; President: Yusaku Nishikata), was responsible for curating the artwork and casting/directing the production for artist AICON at "ECLINE (Ekline)," a newly constructed complex facility in Ikebukuro developed by Real Gate Inc.
ECLINE is a property developed with the concept of "enjoying the space created by intervals," functioning as a complex facility on Yamate Dori where sensibilities blend. Located in Ikebukuro, slightly removed from the hustle and bustle yet close to the city center, it is planned as a space where clothing, food, and work harmoniously intersect.
New Artwork by AICON
For this project, we cast AICON, a painter who depicts people and events from a unique perspective, as the artist to complement ECLINE's spatial concept and atmosphere, thereby enhancing the facility's worldview.
The original works created for this project harmonize with the space where diverse people come and go, bringing sophisticated inspiration to daily work styles.
AICON's Comment
These are three distinct female figures rendered in yellow tones against a backdrop of striking green.
I focused on lines that convey a sense of spatial expansion, aiming to create depth in the figures.
Proposing Art and Design that Complements the Spatial Concept
Art and interior design not only enhance a space's impression but are also crucial elements in conveying a brand's worldview and a property's individuality.
calif art gallery, together with its interior shop "Mid-Century MODERN," will consistently direct everything from proposing artists and furniture to production and delivery, tailored to the concept, usage scenarios, and spatial characteristics of properties and facilities, thereby proposing a rich lifestyle incorporating art and design.

ECLINE (Ekline)
A mixed-use facility integrating shops and offices, located in the Ikebukuro area where a calm atmosphere prevails, just the right distance from the city's hustle and bustle. With the concept of "enjoying the space created by intervals," we have created a space where living and working naturally coexist, and where clothing, food, housing, and work intersect comfortably, allowing people, events, and the community to connect loosely. Leveraging the unique characteristics of Ikebukuro, which is close to the city center yet flows with a calm tempo, we offer a place where one can feel "space" and "connection" in everyday moments.
An eatery, open to the neighborhood, is scheduled to open on the 1st floor in August. For office tenants, this will not only serve as a place for daily refreshment but also as a community hub, fostering serendipitous encounters with local residents. As the face of the facility, it will create a comfortable and rooted local vibrancy.
In terms of design, LINE-INC., which handles everything from spatial design to shop production, directed the exterior, entrance, and common lounge. Artwork by painter AICON is displayed in the common lounge. The space, a fusion of sophisticated design and stimulating art, is a creative workplace that brings new inspiration to its users.

calif art gallery (Calif Art Gallery)
calif art gallery is a gallery space opened in Nakameguro by Beams International, which edits and disseminates street culture. In addition to exhibitions by various domestic and international artists, it also sells art pieces and related merchandise. In conjunction with the adjacent interior shop "Mid-Century MODERN," it proposes a lifestyle that incorporates art and design.
This gallery space reuses facilities that were formerly used as a motorcycle garage, featuring a high ceiling of approximately 4 meters for an open feel and convenient access for loading and unloading facing the street. Industrial elements such as shutters and vinyl accordion curtains, which are both functional and rugged, bring a unique character and charm to the space.
The gallery space can also be rented for various purposes, including art and fashion exhibitions, photo studios, and other events. For details, please contact the Mid-Century MODERN staff.
