Boshimo Co., Ltd. (hereinafter 'the Company'), provider of the maternal and child health app 'Boshimo,' has started supporting digital pregnancy notification submissions in 26 additional municipalities from May.

The Company offers 'Kosodate DX®,' a digital transformation support service for childcare-related municipal programs, available as an add-on feature to 'Boshimo.' This includes the 'Pregnancy Notification Service,' specialized for digital pregnancy registration, and the 'Questionnaire Service,' enabling online submission of pregnancy notifications and various surveys related to pregnancy and childbirth.

Starting in May, the 'Pregnancy Notification Service' has been introduced in 26 municipalities, including Hagi City in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Mima City in Tokushima Prefecture, and Goka Town in Ibaraki Prefecture. As a result, the total number of municipalities supported by the Company for digital pregnancy notifications has reached 190.

Users can now submit their pregnancy notifications directly through the app. Municipalities can use the submitted data to understand each pregnant individual’s circumstances and smoothly implement accompanying consultation support, such as interviews and tailored assistance, while also improving the efficiency of related administrative tasks.

With this initiative, the Company aims to lead maternal and child health digital transformation (DX) across municipalities nationwide.

◆ Boshimo Supports Nationwide Maternal and Child Health DX, Starting with Digital Pregnancy Notifications

Under the 'Child Policy DX' initiative promoted by the Children and Families Agency, digitalization of maternal and child health services is being advanced nationwide to enable residents, municipalities, and medical institutions to appropriately and promptly share and utilize maternal and child health information.※1

Pregnancy notifications represent the first point of contact between residents and municipalities in these initiatives. They serve as a critical gateway to broader maternal and child health DX, including the use of maternal and child health apps, infant health checkups, and pediatric vaccinations. The Company has previously supported digital pregnancy notifications through the 'Questionnaire Service' of 'Kosodate DX,' with some municipalities reporting over 90% of notifications submitted via the app.※2

These results suggest that widespread adoption of digital pregnancy notifications could lead to high app utilization rates—reaching up to 90%—and create early digital touchpoints between parenting households and municipalities from the early stages of pregnancy. This would facilitate better delivery of essential administrative information to families. Additionally, it is expected to lay the foundation for smoother digitalization across the entire maternal and child health sector, including vaccinations and infant health checkups. Given this context, the Company provides services enabling digital pregnancy notifications to support the establishment of maternal and child health DX environments in municipalities nationwide.

With digital pregnancy notifications now available, users can expect reduced administrative burden and improved convenience during pregnancy, even when feeling unwell. Municipal staff can also aim for improved efficiency in counter services and information management.

The Company's vision is to reduce friction in pregnancy and parenting to zero. To achieve this, it is expanding and integrating support areas through 'Kosodate DX'—including prenatal checkups, vaccinations, and infant health checkups—establishing one-stop digital application and procedure systems for parenting, and promoting data linkage of maternal and child health information among relevant organizations (medical institutions, childcare/education, specialized agencies, etc.). Through these efforts, the Company aims to reduce parents’ anxiety and burden and co-create a safe, simple, and supportive parenting society with local communities.
