Pregnancy Notification Application Rate via 'Sapo-UTO' (Boshimo) Exceeds 95% in Uto City, Kumamoto Prefecture!

Uto City, Kumamoto Prefecture, and Boshimo Inc. began providing 'Child-rearing DX,' a service supporting the digitalization of local government childcare-related projects operated by Boshimo, in May 2023. By using the app for submitting various notifications, applications, and questionnaires, including pregnancy notifications, as well as for online reservations for childcare-related projects, the city aims to reduce the burden on parents and municipal staff. A survey on the percentage of pregnancy notifications applied for via 'Sapo-UTO' ('Boshimo') revealed that it has consistently remained above 95% since the service was introduced, indicating that it is being used by many pregnant women. In Uto City, the maternal and child health handbook app 'Boshimo' has been introduced as 'Sapo-UTO' since September 2020 as a digital-based childcare support measure. Furthermore, since May 2023, the city has been promoting the convenience of childcare households by providing the 'Questionnaire Service' of 'Child-rearing DX,' which allows for the submission of various notifications and questionnaires including pregnancy notifications from the app, and the 'Online Reservation Service,' which allows for reservations for childcare-related projects from the app. A survey on the application method for pregnancy notifications revealed that the percentage of pregnancy notifications applied for via 'Sapo-UTO' using the 'Questionnaire Service' has consistently exceeded 95% during the period from June 2023 to December 2025. Previously, users had to make a reservation by phone for the issuance of the maternal and child health handbook in advance, and then receive the pregnancy notification form and fill out the pregnant woman's medical questionnaire on the day of issuance. However, through advance application via the app, users can complete the procedure at their own convenience, and the hassle of filling out documents when the maternal and child health handbook is issued is also reduced. On the municipal side, being able to check the application details before the interview allows for more personalized preparation, leading to an improvement in the quality of the interview. Furthermore, as the application details are digitized, the system input work after the procedure is reduced, and operational efficiency is also progressing.
