Maternal and Child Health Handbook App 'Boshimo' Launches in Agano City, Niigata Prefecture!

The maternal and child health handbook app 'Boshimo,' operated by Boshimo Inc., has been introduced in Agano City, Niigata Prefecture, and has been available as 'Agano Iku-Sapo' since Wednesday, April 1st. Agano City promotes a city-building philosophy where 'children and young people's smiles overflow,' aiming to create an environment where all children grow up enriched and parents feel joy and purpose in raising children. The city has adopted 'Boshimo,' which is used by over 870 municipalities, to digitize the traditional paper-based maternal and child health handbook. This aligns with the Children and Families Agency's policy to promote the use of electronic handbooks and maternal health DX. 'Boshimo' is an app that easily supports vaccination scheduling, health checkup management, and local information distribution via smartphones, tablets, and PCs. Since data is stored in the cloud, it serves as a backup in case of loss due to disasters and allows for continuous use when moving to other municipalities or changing devices. In Agano City, to ensure safe childbirth and child-rearing, the city provides support for pregnant women and 'Pre-mom/Pre-dad classes' to help fathers prepare for life with a baby. Additionally, at the child-rearing support center 'Niko Niko,' midwives and registered dietitians provide regular consultations on breastfeeding, baby food, and child development. 'Boshimo' was adopted as a new tool to make these city initiatives more convenient for families. 'Agano Iku-Sapo' supports busy parents by managing health checkup data, vaccination schedules, providing advice, and delivering timely local information. The 'Milestone Diary' feature allows parents to record growth milestones with photos and messages, serving as a guide for child development. Furthermore, in times of social change, such as infectious disease outbreaks, the app enables the city to instantly deliver important information and advice from public health nurses to those who need it, supporting a safe environment for childbirth and child-rearing even in emergencies.
