The maternal and child health handbook app 'Boshimo,' operated by Boshimo Inc., has been introduced in Nagiso Town, Kiso District, Nagano Prefecture, and will launch on Wednesday, April 1st, under the name 'Nagisokko Navi.'
Nagiso Town aims to build a society where all children can have positive feelings and hold dreams and hopes. The town seeks to provide support based on the principle that child-rearing is not solely the responsibility of the family, but a challenge to be solved by the community and society as a whole.
'Boshimo,' which allows users to record paper-based maternal and child health handbook data digitally and is already used by over 830 municipalities, has been adopted for this initiative. The service will begin operation in line with the Children and Families Agency's policy on utilizing electronic versions of the maternal and child health handbook and promoting digital transformation (DX) in maternal and child health*1.
'Boshimo' is an app that easily supports the management of vaccination schedules, health checkup results, and the distribution of local information via smartphones, tablets, and PCs. Because data is stored in the cloud, it serves as a backup if the physical handbook is lost due to disasters or other reasons. It also supports continued use when moving to other municipalities or changing device models, allowing users to continue using it with peace of mind.
◆ 'Boshimo' Launches in Nagiso Town, Nagano Prefecture, a Town Where Children Grow Up Healthy While Protected by the Community!
Nagiso Town implements a 'Support Project for Transportation Expenses for Prenatal Checkups and Childbirth,' which subsidizes transportation costs for prenatal checkups and transportation and accommodation costs for childbirth for pregnant women who require approximately 30 minutes or more to travel from their residence or hometown to the nearest obstetric medical institution. This helps create an environment where women can face childbirth with peace of mind.
Additionally, the town supports children's healthy growth from various perspectives, such as 'Book Start,' which gifts picture books to 8-month-old babies to encourage parents to talk to them, and 'Book Start Plus,' which gifts a picture book every month for one year to 2-year-old children.
'Boshimo' was adopted as a new tool for disseminating child-rearing information to make these town initiatives more conveniently accessible to child-rearing households.
◆ Thorough Support for Pregnancy, Childbirth, and Child-rearing with a Community-Based Parenting App!
'Nagisokko Navi,' adopted by Nagiso Town, is a service compatible with smartphones, tablets, and PCs. It is packed with convenient features to help busy mothers and fathers, including recording and managing health data for pregnant women and children, managing vaccination schedules, providing advice on childbirth and child-rearing, sharing functions with family members such as grandparents living in distant areas, and notifying users of local information distributed by the town.
'Dekitayo Kinenbi' (Milestone Anniversary), which can be used as a parenting diary, was created based on the Children and Families Agency's maternal and child health handbook format examples. It allows users to record developmental stages and parenting milestones—including the 'Guardian's Records' from the physical handbook—along with photos and messages, and also serves as a guide for a child's growth and development.
Furthermore, even when social environmental changes occur due to factors like infectious diseases, the app allows the municipality to instantly deliver important information, such as alerts or advice from public health nurses, to those who need it via text or video, supporting the creation of an environment where childbirth and child-rearing can be done with peace of mind even in emergencies.
<Comment from Mr. Hiroaki Mukai, Mayor of Nagiso Town, Nagano Prefecture>

Our company has a vision of reducing the friction coefficient related to pregnancy and child-rearing to zero. To achieve this, we are promoting the expansion and coordination of support areas (prenatal checkups, vaccinations, infant checkups, etc.) through 'Kosodate DX®'*2, the development of all-in-one-stop applications and procedures for child-rearing, and the coordination of maternal and child health information with relevant organizations (medical, childcare/education, specialized institutions, etc.). By doing so, we aim to reduce the 'anxiety and burden' of guardians and co-create a 'safe and simple' child-rearing society with local communities.
