The maternal and child health handbook app 'Boshimo,' operated by Boshimo Inc., has been adopted by Chihayaakasaka Village in Minamikawachi District, Osaka Prefecture, and will be available starting April 1st (Wednesday) as the 'Kogosekko♡Sukusuku App.'

In its 3rd Chihayaakasaka Village Child and Child-rearing Support Business Plan, the village has established the basic philosophy of 'Chihayaakasaka: A town that supports each other and cheers for children's dreams and futures.' In addition to creating an environment where parents and children can spend time healthily, the village is enhancing initiatives to support learning and growth, providing detailed support for diverse child-rearing households.

'Boshimo,' which allows users to record data from paper maternal and child health handbooks in a digital format and is already implemented in over 830 municipalities, has been adopted for this initiative. The service will begin operation in line with the Children and Families Agency's policy on utilizing electronic versions of maternal and child health handbooks and promoting maternal and child health DX*1.

'Boshimo' is an app that easily supports the management of vaccination schedules, health check results, and the distribution of local information via smartphones, tablets, and PCs. Because data is stored in the cloud, it serves as a backup in case the physical handbook is lost due to disasters or other reasons. It also supports continued use when moving to other municipalities or changing devices, allowing users to continue using it with peace of mind.

In Chihayaakasaka Village, as part of the 'Child-rearing Support Childbirth Celebration Project,' the village presents picture books, parenting books, and building blocks made from local 'Osaka Kawachi' timber to children born in the village and their guardians, supporting the healthy growth of the children who will lead the next generation.

Additionally, the regional child-rearing support center 'Himawari' supports families through various events, including parenting consultations, seasonal craft activities using everyday items like paper cups, and physical play. The facility also strives to create an environment that realizes diverse learning and interaction, such as holding monthly English classes aimed at helping children feel familiar with English while having fun.

This time, 'Boshimo' has been adopted as a new tool for disseminating child-rearing information to help child-rearing households utilize the village's initiatives more conveniently.

The 'Dekitayo Kinenbi' (Milestone Anniversary) feature, which can be used as a parenting diary, was created based on the Children and Families Agency's maternal and child health handbook format examples. It allows users to record developmental stages and parenting milestones—including the 'Guardian's Record' from the physical handbook—along with photos and messages, and also serves as a guide for a child's growth and development.

Furthermore, even when social environmental changes occur due to factors such as infectious diseases, the app allows the municipality to immediately deliver important information, such as alerts or advice from public health nurses, to those who need it via text or video, supporting the creation of an environment where one can give birth and raise children with peace of mind even in emergencies.
