The mother and child handbook app "Boshimo," operated by Boshimo Co., Ltd., has been introduced in Otoineppu Village, Nakagawa District, Hokkaido, and has been available as "muranoko" since Wednesday, April 1st.
In response to the villagers' desire to "create an environment where children can grow up healthy," Otoineppu Village aims to be a village where people can have children and raise them with peace of mind by establishing a system that supports the entire process from pregnancy, childbirth, to child-rearing.
This time, "Boshimo," which allows digital recording of paper mother and child health handbook data and has been adopted by over 830 municipalities, has been selected, and operations will commence in line with the policy of the Children and Families Agency to promote the utilization of electronic mother and child health handbooks and child-rearing maternal health DX※1.
"Boshimo" is an app that easily supports vaccination schedules, management of health check results, and delivery of regional information via smartphones, tablets, and PCs. Since data is stored in the cloud, it serves as a backup in case of loss of the mother and child health handbook due to disasters, and it also supports continued use when moving to another municipality or changing devices, allowing for worry-free continued use.
◆"Boshimo" is now available in Otoineppu Village, Hokkaido, providing seamless support from childbirth to child-rearing!
Otoineppu Village celebrates the birth of children with a village-wide initiative, providing a birth congratulatory payment of 30,000 yen for each newborn. Furthermore, by providing partial subsidies for medical expenses for children from infants to high school students, they offer economic support that caters to the child's developmental stage, thereby supporting child-rearing families in the long term.
Additionally, they support a safe travel environment from infancy through the free loan of child seats, demonstrating a commitment to various policies that support children's healthy growth.
To make the village's initiatives more accessible to child-rearing households, "Boshimo" has been adopted as a new tool for disseminating child-rearing information.
◆Supporting pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare with a community-based child-rearing app!
"Muranoko," adopted by Otoineppu Village, is a service compatible with smartphones, tablets, and PCs. It offers convenient features to assist busy mothers and fathers juggling childcare and work, including recording and managing health data for pregnant women and children, managing vaccination schedules, providing advice on childbirth and child-rearing, sharing functions with family members such as grandparents living in distant areas, and notifying users of information distributed by the village.
The "Dekita yo Kinenbi" (Anniversary of Accomplishment) feature, usable as a parenting diary, is created based on examples of mother and child health handbook formats from the Children and Families Agency. It allows users to record milestones in their child's development and significant moments in child-rearing with photos and messages, beyond the "Parent's Record" section of the mother and child health handbook. It also serves as a benchmark for the child's growth and development.
Furthermore, in the event of societal environmental changes due to factors like infectious diseases, the app can instantly deliver important information such as advisories from the municipality or advice from public health nurses via text or video to those who need it, supporting an environment where childbirth and child-rearing can be done with peace of mind even in emergencies.

Our company upholds the vision of eliminating friction in pregnancy and child-rearing. To achieve this, we are expanding and linking support areas (maternal and child health checkups, vaccinations, infant checkups, etc.) through "Child-rearing DX®"※2, developing a one-stop application and procedure system for child-rearing, and promoting the linkage of maternal and child health information with relevant institutions (medical, childcare/education, specialized institutions, etc.). Through these efforts, we aim to reduce parental "anxiety and burden" and co-create a "safe and simple" child-rearing society with the community.
