The maternal and child health handbook app 'Boshimo,' operated by Boshimo Inc., has been introduced in Yasuoka Village, Shimoina District, Nagano Prefecture, and will be available as 'Nijiiro Techo' starting Wednesday, April 1st. Yasuoka Village aims to create a gentle community that supports the growth and child-rearing of all children and young people, based on the belief that guaranteeing children's rights is essential for them to grow up healthy and with a rich heart. The village has adopted 'Boshimo,' which allows paper maternal and child health handbook data to be recorded digitally and is already used by over 830 municipalities. This operation begins in line with the Children and Families Agency's policy to promote the use of electronic maternal and child health handbooks and maternal and child health DX. 'Boshimo' is an app that easily supports vaccination schedules, health check results management, and local information distribution via smartphones, tablets, and PCs. Since data is stored in the cloud, it serves as a backup in case the physical handbook is lost due to disasters, and it can be used continuously when moving to other municipalities or changing devices, allowing for peace of mind. Yasuoka Village provides childbirth grants of 100,000 yen for the first child, 200,000 yen for the second, and 500,000 yen for the third and subsequent children. Additionally, it caps childcare fees for children under 3 and food expenses for children 3 and older at 3,000 yen per month, reducing the economic burden on households. The village also implements a 'Postpartum Care Project' for mothers and children under one year old, offering residential, day-trip, and home-visit care options, with the village covering 90% of the costs. 'Boshimo' has been adopted as a new tool to help families conveniently access these services. The app includes features like growth records, vaccination management, and advice, helping busy parents. It also allows for sharing with grandparents and receiving immediate alerts from the village. Mayor Akira Yokomae stated, 'We hope this app will help provide seamless support from pregnancy to child-rearing.'
