Kitakyushu City (Mayor: Kazuhisa Takeuchi) and Boshimo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takamitsu Ogita), provider of the母子モ (Boshimo) Maternal and Child Health Handbook app, will launch a new "Maternity and Child Health Checkup Service" feature within the "Kitakyu Child-Rearing Support App"*1 starting Monday, April 1st. This service digitizes the previously paper-based subsidy vouchers and results for prenatal health checkups (hereafter, prenatal checkups), enabling real-time collaboration on checkup information between pregnant individuals and medical institutions. This allows users to utilize subsidy vouchers and check their health results directly from the app, reducing procedural burdens. Concurrently, by streamlining checkup operations for both the municipality and medical institutions, it aims to enhance and provide more personalized maternal and child health support based on individual circumstances.

◆ Kitakyushu City, a leader in Maternal and Child Health DX, begins digitization of prenatal checkups

Kitakyushu City and Boshimo Co., Ltd. signed a partnership agreement in 2022 to promote digital transformation in the fields of pregnancy, childbirth, and child-rearing through "Boshimo Child-Rearing DX"*2. As part of this, they have worked to improve the convenience of child-rearing procedures through the "Kitakyu Child-Rearing Support App," including pre-applications for the Maternal and Child Health Handbook, submission of pregnancy notifications, and filling out and submitting questionnaires for infant health checkups, as well as checking health results. Notably, the application rate for pregnancy notifications using the app has exceeded 90%, which has not only reduced the burden of procedures for users but also improved the operational efficiency of municipal staff and led to more tailored, detailed support for each individual*3. The "Maternity and Child Health Checkup Service" launching now re-examines the conventional, paper-based voucher system and tackles the digitization of prenatal checkups. This aims to further advance DX in the maternal and child health field by reducing the burden on pregnant women associated with tasks like filling out vouchers and streamlining checkup operations for both medical institutions and the municipality.
