Acquire a lifelong skill. Learn the thought logic of 'skilled effects' that anyone can reproduce.

Ryo Sakaguchi, who has built a career in the Hollywood VFX industry and has been active as a leading effect artist for about 10 years, will systematically explain 'why they are skilled' based on the commonalities of many excellent artists he has encountered in the field.

The course explains the thought processes and judgment criteria for creating excellent expressions as logic, from a universal perspective independent of tools and software. It verbalizes skills that tend to rely on intuition and experience, presenting them in a reproducible form for anyone.

It is applicable not only to effect artists aiming for skill improvement and the next stage, but also to other specialized fields such as lighting, texturing, look development, and matte painting.

This content allows you to acquire a 'core' that will elevate your career.

■ Voices from past participants

- It was very enlightening to hear about perspectives (production sense) that I had never encountered before. I had been struggling to make things work even after acquiring knowledge and starting projects, but I realized I was in the 'senior' pattern on the junior and senior graph that was discussed. The discussion that optimization is not just about resolution was also something I had almost never heard before, so having it explained so thoroughly this time really clicked and greatly boosted my motivation for the future. I'm really glad I took the course.

- I understood why communication skills are necessary for effect artists. It's important to read between the lines of client feedback. I want to apply the concept of 'throwaway files' to my work. I also want to get into the habit of viewing random frequency structures as images.

- Although I am currently a student with no industry experience, today's class was very informative. I was very satisfied with this lecture as I learned a wide range of valuable insights, such as how to develop 'an eye' and how to communicate with superiors.

■ Curriculum (Partial Introduction)

- The overall logic of skilled effects artists

- Avoiding uniform randomness, low-frequency randomness and structure

- Understanding client retakes

- What are natural effects?

- Reasons for not wedging

- How to think when technical issues impede work

And more.
