Bookoff Corporation Limited (hereinafter, "Bookoff"), a subsidiary of BOOKOFF GROUP HOLDINGS LTD. (Headquarters: Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, President: Yasutaka Horiuchi) which operates reuse shops such as "BOOKOFF", will launch the "SustainaBook Project" on July 1, 2026. This project aims to create reading opportunities for children and resolve regional reading disparities by donating books to children in local communities.
We will be accepting applications for book donation recipients from July 1 (Wed) to August 31 (Mon).

What is the "SustainaBook Project"?
The "SustainaBook Project" (hereinafter, "this Project") is a social contribution activity that began in 2023 with the aim of creating reading opportunities for children and resolving reading disparities in local communities.
This Project is implemented in cooperation with BOOKOFF stores nationwide and local children's facilities as an initiative that reduces environmental impact by extending the lifespan of unneeded items and allows anyone to participate in social contribution activities easily and without burden.
During the period, based on the number of books sold by customers at participating stores, a donation amount will be calculated at a rate of 1 yen per 10 items. Reuse books equivalent to the calculated amount will be donated to children's facilities in need of books.

A donation amount will be calculated at a rate of 1 yen per 10 items purchased during the period, and books equivalent to the donation amount will be donated.
Bookoff will bear the donation costs. The purchase price paid to customers when selling items will not be reduced.
Only items that have been priced will be eligible for donation calculation.

About the Application for Book Donation Recipients

We are seeking applications for book donation recipients to reduce regional reading disparities and increase children's reading opportunities.
The number of donated books will be determined by the total amount collected, calculated at a rate of 1 yen per 10 items purchased between September 1, 2026 (Tue) and September 30, 2026 (Wed).
Donation recipients will be selected based on the following themes:
【Themes】Creation of children's reading opportunities / Elimination of regional disparities in reading opportunities
▽ Eligibility
Organizations that are working on the themes of creating children's reading opportunities and resolving regional reading disparities, and that generally meet the following conditions, are eligible to apply. ※ Even if the conditions are not fully met, organizations and facilities engaged in activities aligned with the themes are encouraged to apply for this Project by entering the application page and consulting in the remarks section.
1) The organization must be able to proactively engage in promoting reading activities and agree with the purpose of this Project. 2) Non-profit organizations with legal personality / Educational institutions such as schools (including childcare and kindergartens) / Libraries, etc. 3) Organizations based in Hokkaido, Aomori, Iwate, Akita, Yamagata, Miyagi, Fukushima, Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma, Saitama, Chiba, Kanagawa, Niigata, Yamanashi, Nagano, Gifu, Shizuoka, Aichi, Mie, Kyoto, Nara, Wakayama, Okayama, Hiroshima, Kagawa, Ehime, Kochi, Miyazaki, or Okinawa, with at least 3 years of activity history as of the application date.
4) Organizations whose annual activity reports can be viewed on their website, etc.
5) Organizations whose business reports/financial statements for the most recent fiscal year, business reports/budgets for the current fiscal year, and organizational overview are available on the organization's website.
6) The organization must have a financial institution account in its name.
7) The organization must not have any facts contrary to public interest, such as legal violations or fraudulent acts, in the 3 years prior to the application date.
(Examples: administrative dispositions, labor lawsuits, etc.)
8) Organizations that fall under any of the following categories are not eligible.
a. Individual activities or hobby circles b. Organizations whose purpose is political or religious activities c. Organizations related to anti-social forces (including business partners)

※ Maximum of 2 facilities per organization.
▽ Selection Results Notification will be sent via email by mid-September 2026.
▽ Post-Decision Procedures The SustainaBook Project Secretariat will contact you. Books will be selected based on a genre list provided in advance and delivered to the facilities. Books will be delivered directly from the stores. ※ Specific items cannot be requested.
※ If direct delivery is difficult due to scheduling conflicts, we will arrange for shipping from the store. (Scheduled for around October - November 2026)
▽ Cooperation Requested from Donated Organizations Please cooperate with photo sessions at the time of book receipt and donation. We may request cooperation for interviews, such as joint press releases.
▽ Revocation of Donation Recipient Status Donation recipient status will be revoked if any of the following apply: 1) The organization no longer meets the eligibility criteria. 2) The organization ceases or dissolves its activities (including entering into such procedures). 3) The organization's non-profit status becomes difficult to maintain, such as the revocation of its legal personality certification. 4) In other cases where our company deems revocation necessary.
Past Achievements
Through this Project, 2,500 books were donated to 25 facilities in the first year (2023), 5,325 books to 50 facilities in 2024, and 5,884 books to 73 facilities in 2025. This year, we plan to further expand the scale and donate books to many more facilities.
