Manga Label "Dangan Comics" Launched! A New Manga Label Featuring Comic Adaptations Based on Dangan Bunko Light Novels! Serialization Begins Primarily on Niconico Manga!

BookBase Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka City) launched a new manga label, "Dangan Comics," on March 25, 2026. As its first releases, "Grimm Connect: Little Red Riding Hood Chapter," "Akaka Kurokuro Paradise Jigoku Geki," and "Sengoku Nirvana: Another Story" began serialization on Niconico Manga. To commemorate the launch, the first volume of "Grimm Connect" was released simultaneously with the start of its serialization.

Until now, BookBase has focused on light novels, primarily under the "Dangan Bunko" label.

As a way to allow more people to enjoy our works, we have established "Dangan Comics" within our company, hoping to make an impact in the highly competitive manga world.

① In-house Label Dedicated to Quality

While comic adaptations are often produced by a different label or editorial production company than the original rights holder, Dangan Comics handles all production progress and management entirely within its in-house editorial department.

This enables smooth communication with the original creators and establishes a system to prevent common issues such as communication oversights.

② Industry-Leading Manuscript Fees

Since we operate directly in-house, there are no intermediary margins, allowing us to return higher manuscript fees to manga artists. (13,000 yen to 15,000 yen/page)

By increasing manuscript fees, which tend to be lower compared to original manga, we have resolved issues such as difficulty in hiring assistants, thereby creating an environment where high-quality manga can be produced consistently.

③ Commitment to Original Works

Regarding original works, we only target titles from Dangan Bunko and do not aim to produce a large quantity unnecessarily.

We will inherit Dangan Bunko's ethos of "commitment to quality" within Dangan Comics, focusing on original works that have been well-received within Dangan Bunko for our comic adaptations.

In addition to the initial lineup of three titles, two more titles are currently in production.
