bonobo LLC presents ikasu, a brand that reconstructs the stories and aesthetics of different eras embedded in kimonos into contemporary art. In collaboration with THE LIVELY Tokyo Azabu-juban, operated by Global Agents Co., Ltd., ikasu will hold a Kimono Upcycled Art Exhibition from May 1 (Friday) to May 31 (Sunday), 2026, at the hotel's 2nd-floor shared lounge 'LIVERALLY'.

This exhibition features 53 works in total, including 44 new pieces. The theme is 'City Night Bleeding Light and Colors'. Textile artist Lena Okamoto, inspired by the hotel lounge's atmosphere, created these works by layering materials and colors to express a brilliance that resides within silence. Some pieces utilize antique paulownia chests as framing materials, showcasing ikasu's 'all-upcycle' philosophy.

During the exhibition period, the 'LIVERALLY' lounge, usually reserved for guests, will be open to the general public with free admission and no reservation required. In addition to this exhibit, flower art capturing the spring atmosphere is scheduled throughout the building, inviting both guests and visitors to encounter 'art encountered during a journey'.

ikasu: Breathing New Value and Stories into Retired Kimonos
In Japanese households, many retired kimonos and obis lie dormant. Due to fewer wearing opportunities and storage challenges, they are often discarded without being passed to the next generation. ikasu utilizes these antique materials, respecting their history and memory, to reconstruct them as modern textile art.
