Sendai Station to Host "Boat Racer Experience Event"! A 4-Day Event to Experience the Career Path of a Professional Athlete with an Average Annual Income of ¥20 Million ~ Starting July 2 (Thu) to Coincide with the 142nd Boat Racer Recruitment ~

The BOATRACE Promotion Association (Minato-ku, Tokyo) will hold a "Boat Racer Experience Booth" from July 2 (Thu) to 5 (Sun), 2026, at the "Mori no Hidamari Galleria" in the Sendai Station East-West Passage, to allow visitors to experience the world of boat racing in a game-like format, coinciding with the recruitment for the 142nd Boat Racer class (entry into the Boat Racer Academy in April 2027), which runs from July 1, 2026 (Wed) to September 11, 2026 (Fri).

The booth will feature attractions that allow visitors to feel closer to the profession of a boat racer, such as the "Splash Battle" simulator where you can virtually experience boat race steering, a game to experience the unique "flying start" method of boat racing, and interactive content to measure the physical abilities required of boat racers.

Furthermore, on July 4 (Sat) and 5 (Sun), instructors from the Boat Racer Academy will be present to answer individual questions directly.

There are currently 19 registered active boat racers from the Tohoku region, 6 of whom are young racers (under 30 years old). However, boat racers from the Tohoku region account for only about 1% of the approximately 1,600 boat racers nationwide. The association is strengthening its efforts to promote the appeal of boat racing and recruit boat racers through sponsorships of events and activities in various parts of the Tohoku region, particularly Miyagi Prefecture.

➀ Boat Race Experience Simulator "Splash Battle"

You can freely experience the realistic steering feel unique to boat racing by operating the steering wheel and throttle lever. Those who achieve the target time will receive a "Boat Race Original QUO Card*" on a first-come, first-served basis. *Limited quantity, ends when supplies run out.

2 Boat Racer Tryout

In addition to "Splash Battle," this is an interactive content that measures "grip strength" and "jumping ability," which are required for boat racers. Participants in this content will receive a "Boat Race Original Slider Pouch*." *Limited quantity, ends when supplies run out.

3 Boat Race Start Challenge

This is a game where you can experience the "flying start," which is characteristic of boat racing. Those who successfully achieve the start will receive a "Boat Race Original Mechanical Pencil*." *Limited quantity, ends when supplies run out.

4 Boat Racer Quiz

Challenge a quiz about boat racers, and if you answer all questions correctly, you can enter a lottery to win "Boat Race Original Goods*." *Limited quantity, ends when supplies run out.

5 Visit by Former Boat Racer Academy Instructors
