As part of its carbon-neutral initiative, Boat Race has been conducting tests using "gasoline with a 30% ethanol blend (E30 gasoline)" for its racing boat motors, with consideration for the global environment, since May 2025 at BOATRACE Biwako and BOATRACE Omura.

Following the test results, which confirmed no impact on the competition and no issues with running performance, E30 gasoline will be sequentially introduced at each race venue starting from the "Rookie Series Round 8 SKY PerfecTV! JLC Cup" at BOATRACE Hamanako on April 9, 2026, coinciding with motor replacements.

By using E30 gasoline, an approximately 12-15% reduction in CO2 emissions is expected compared to the regular gasoline conventionally used. The entire Boat Race industry aims to achieve sustainable motorsports.
