Bluefield Energy Launches 'BF Cloud' Corporate PPA Settlement System for Hokuriku Electric Power

Bluefield Energy Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Takafumi Shimada, hereinafter "Bluefield Energy"), which leverages technology to reform structural inefficiencies in distributed energy generation and electricity retail, announces that it has commenced provision of its customer management system "BF Cloud," which supports corporate PPA settlement, to Hokuriku Electric Power Company (Headquarters: Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture; Representative Director and President Executive Officer: Koji Matsuda, hereinafter "Hokuriku Electric Power").

Through the provision of this system, Hokuriku Electric Power has achieved improved quality in its complex corporate PPA* settlement operations within its electricity retail business.

*Corporate PPA (Power Purchase Agreement): A contract where a corporate electricity user directly purchases electricity from a renewable energy generator at a long-term fixed price.

Background to the Launch of "BF Cloud"

Amidst strong societal demand for decarbonization of power sources, the adoption of corporate PPAs is accelerating. Consequently, billing operations based on generation and usage records are becoming increasingly complex year by year. General-purpose systems capable of handling such complex operations are still limited, and in many workplaces, operations rely on individual human expertise and management using Excel.

Bluefield Energy, in response to requests from multiple electricity retailers, including major power companies, has been providing "BF Cloud" as a cloud-based system that can centrally and efficiently manage billing operations for corporate PPAs since December 2025.

Furthermore, Hokuriku Electric Power's management policy emphasizes "promoting decarbonization in unity with the region" and "expanding new business areas for sustainable growth." While utilizing the power source, supply-demand, and sales foundations cultivated in its existing electricity business, the company is advancing regional decarbonization and creating new value and services. Among these, the expansion of PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) services utilizing renewable energy sources, against the backdrop of increasing social demands for decarbonization, is positioned as an important measure to simultaneously promote the company's growth strategy and decarbonization strategy.

On the other hand, PPA services utilizing renewable energy sources generally become more complex in terms of operational management as the number of projects increases with business growth, including managing generation facilities, understanding contract information, and collecting and analyzing generation and supply-demand data. To expand PPA services in the medium to long term, it was indispensable to establish a foundation that could handle such operational complexities, centrally manage operations digitally, and operate stably and efficiently.

Against this background, our "BF Cloud" system was adopted as a platform to support the efficiency of PPA operations for Hokuriku Electric Power's further expansion of its renewable energy business. BF Cloud was evaluated for its ability to centrally manage various information related to PPA projects and its capacity to handle operations with a view to future business expansion, and is expected to be utilized as a foundation supporting the company's PPA service expansion.

What is "BF Cloud"?

It offers the following set of functions with the aim of freeing electricity retailers from cumbersome billing management tasks.

The corporate PPA plans and billing operation flows provided differ for each electricity retailer. In this introduction, the standard functions of "BF Cloud" have been customized and provided for settlement operations according to individual rules for each electricity consumer.
