Tachikawa Corporation (Headquarters: Mita, Minato-ku, Tokyo; Capital: 4.475 billion yen; Representative Director, President & Executive Officer: Hisaya Ikezaki) will expand the specifications of its partition 'Place' and launch it starting Friday, May 1, 2026.
### ■ Growing Need for Flexible Space Design in Offices and Stores In recent years, there has been an increasing need for space designs in offices and stores that allow layouts to be flexibly changed according to the purpose and number of people. Particularly in existing facilities, although there is a desire to install partitions capable of flexible zoning, it was sometimes difficult to achieve due to the restrictions of the ceiling substructure. Given this background, we are adding a new 'bottom-load specification' to the 'Place' mobile storage partition, which supports the load on the floor side and eliminates the need for extensive substructure work.
### ■ 'Bottom-Load Specification' Contributes to Shorter Construction Times and Reduced Costs Without Major Substructure Reinforcement Because the 'bottom-load specification' adopts a structure that supports the panel's load on the floor surface, there is no need to apply weight to the ceiling side like conventional top-hanging types. As a result, it is less affected by building conditions and can be installed without major substructure reinforcement work. In particular, it is easy to introduce even under conditions such as system ceilings and light steel framing, flexibly accommodating the renovation of existing facilities and layout changes after tenant move-in. Since it can be attached to existing foundations, it also contributes to shortening the construction period and reducing construction costs.
### ■ Adding 'Mobile Storage' for Freely Switching Spaces According to Needs The partition 'Place' mobile storage is designed to flexibly switch spaces depending on the usage scene. When fully closed, the panels fit flat against each other, allowing the space to be firmly divided like a wall.
