Creative production company BLAST ARTS has primarily focused its activities on scenario production. Its representative, Ryoji Shirakihara, has long held an interest in music but struggled with whether he should translate that interest into his own form of expression.

However, feeling that there were realms of expression he could not reach simply by writing music-related articles on note, he decided to take the plunge into music as a new challenge.

It is a choice to once again face the music he had once let go of.

Forming Long Shot Confession

What Ryoji Shirakihara chose was not to expand BLAST ARTS into the music business, but to launch a band himself as a performer (Ryoji Shirakihara).

Having experienced band life in his teens and having remained intermittently involved with music ever since, the choice to "do music" was by no means impulsive. However, he had long been unable to answer the question of whether he should do it "not as a job, but by standing on the front lines."

What broke that hesitation was the intensity of the live music scene. Even today, with digital distribution being the mainstream, the power that music holds in a real-world setting has only grown stronger. There is a form of expression that can only be realized by sharing a space with an audience, and it certainly exists there.

As a member of the generation strongly influenced by 2000s emo and alternative rock, he aims to reconstruct that sensibility in modern-day Japan, launching the dream that is his new band, "Long Shot Confession."
