WorkPeer — An Integrated AI Platform That Generates Workflows from Chat and Self-Improves with Use

Black AI Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) announced the launch of its enterprise AI platform 'WorkPeer' on June 7, 2026. WorkPeer is an 'evolving' platform where AI constructs business workflows from chat instructions and autonomously enhances its accuracy with each execution. Even legacy core systems without APIs can be integrated without modifications through 'Compute Use,' where AI operates systems by interpreting screens. The previously standalone services 'AI PC Worker' (for screen-based task automation) and 'AI Knowledge Core' (for internal knowledge utilization) have now been integrated into this unified platform.

In the company's proprietary benchmark 'JEB-Bench,' which simulates Japanese office workflows, WorkPeer ranked first among six competing systems, including global general-purpose AI agents and domestic AI SaaS solutions.

Key Features

- Simply tell the AI what you want via chat, and it generates and saves the workflow. Subsequent executions require just one click. - The AI reviews its own execution logs to continuously improve accuracy and efficiency — an 'evolving' design. - SaaS platforms connect via connectors; legacy core systems without APIs connect via screen operations (Compute Use). No modifications to existing systems are required. - Ranked #1 among six systems in 'JEB-Bench' (9 evaluation axes × 33 tasks, conducted internally), a benchmark simulating Japanese office workflows. - Standard features include human-in-the-loop approval, audit logs, and role-based access control (RBAC), ensuring compliance with internal controls (J-SOX). Data is stored in Japan and not reused for AI retraining. On-premise deployment is supported.

Development Background — Why Many Adopted AI Tools Fail to Improve Efficiency

Many Japanese companies have adopted tools like ChatGPT or RPA but still don't feel their operations have become more efficient. We identified three major challenges. First, interactions remain limited to chat, failing to achieve full automation (AI agentization). Second, data and systems are siloed across departments, preventing AI from spanning workflows. Third, general-purpose AI lacks understanding of company-specific processes and rules, making it impractical in real-world settings.

WorkPeer was developed to directly address these three challenges. The key insight is to treat AI not as a 'deploy-and-forget' tool, but as a 'hired colleague' capable of taking on real work. Instead of employees learning to operate AI, the AI learns to operate existing business systems, taking over tasks and becoming smarter with each assignment. Employees don't need to learn new operations or change existing workflows.

AI Workflows That You Create by Chat and That Get Smarter with Use

When you describe a workflow via chat, AI designs and saves it as an executable process. From the second time onward, one-click execution ensures consistent, accurate repetition (with approval and audit trails). Moreover, WorkPeer reviews its own execution logs after each run, correcting errors and optimizing steps within the workflow. Additional requests via chat allow real-time refinement. No programming knowledge is required — frontline staff can automate tasks themselves.

After the initial chat request, AI generates and saves the workflow. Subsequent executions are one-click, with continuous self-improvement.

Connecting Legacy Systems Without Any Modifications

Major cloud services like Microsoft 365, Slack, kintone, freee, Salesforce, and SAP are connected via dedicated connectors. Even custom-developed or legacy core systems without APIs can be automated directly through 'Compute Use,' where AI understands screen context and operates the system. There's no need to switch tools or modify systems — cross-system workflows can be unified into a single process.

Ranked #1 in Benchmark Simulating Japanese Office Work

Most global general-purpose AI agents are not designed with Japanese business practices or core systems in mind. Therefore, we developed 'JEB-Bench,' a proprietary benchmark tailored to Japanese office workflows. We modeled five organizations — logistics, precision manufacturing, regional banking, retail, and integrated construction — preparing internal document corpora and core system mocks. We designed 33 tasks across 9 evaluation axes, including internal knowledge QA, workflow generation, system operations, and document creation, and evaluated six systems under identical conditions, including global AI agents and domestic AI SaaS.

JEB-Bench Overall Ranking (9 axes × 33 tasks, June 2026, conducted by Black AI). WorkPeer ranked first among six competing systems.

Use Cases — Automating Routine Tasks as They Are

Logistics & 3PL: When a delivery request form is photographed via smartphone, AI reads the content, matches it with the product master, and registers it in the Transport Management System (TMS). This reduces processing time from ~5 minutes to ~30 seconds per item and eliminates transcription errors.

Finance: AI reads invoices received via email, determines amounts and internal policies. For amounts exceeding a threshold, it obtains approval before automatically creating entries in the accounting system.

Internal Help Desk: Responds to questions posted on Slack by searching internal documents and providing cited answers. Unresolved issues are escalated to human agents.

Document Creation: Based on sales data, AI concurrently creates charts, drafts text, and references past documents, preparing monthly report drafts in minutes.

WorkPeer is designed to be customized for each industry's workflows and existing systems — manufacturing, logistics, finance, construction, retail, healthcare, and local governments. Specialized agents for domains like manufacturing, healthcare, and legal will be progressively expanded.

Toward the Physical AI Era — Connecting Field Robots with Business Platforms

WorkPeer's vision extends beyond digital workflow automation. Beyond this lies the 'Physical AI Era.' By connecting on-site AI robots with WorkPeer via IoT, we aim to seamlessly integrate real-world operational data with enterprise AI platforms. From office desks to logistics warehouses and manufacturing lines, we envision a world where AI handles end-to-end operations across the physical realm (currently under development).
