Flora Inc. (Headquarters: Tokyo, hereinafter Flora) conducted a "Menstrual Pain Experience Workshop" for the Daiichi Sankyo Labor Union on February 26, 2026, with the aim of promoting understanding of menstrual pain.
Background of Implementation
While the Daiichi Sankyo Labor Union has been progressing in establishing systems, it is working to further promote the utilization of these systems by reducing psychological barriers and fostering a workplace culture.
In particular, there is a lack of consultation and understanding regarding physical discomfort and women's health issues, necessitating the creation of an environment and dissemination of understanding to make the systems "usable." Against this backdrop, this workshop was planned and implemented as an opportunity to deepen understanding through "experience."
Objectives of This Training
This training was conducted with the following objectives:
- Improvement of working conditions for union members - Promotion of understanding of the current situation where systems and leave are difficult to use - Fostering a workplace culture where consultation is easy - Sharing and aligning issues with a view to collaboration with the HR department
Furthermore, it provided an opportunity to deepen understanding of women's health issues, such as menstrual pain, through simulated experiences and workshops, and to learn about its impact on work and appropriate considerations.
Implementation Overview
- Date and Time: February 26, 2026 (Thu) 17:45-19:00 - Target Audience: Labor union members (male and female) - Number of Participants: 21

Daiichi Sankyo Labor Union, Headquarters Branch Representative
This workshop was conducted by the Daiichi Sankyo Labor Union with the aim of promoting understanding of menstrual pain, one of women's specific health issues, in the workplace, and learning basic knowledge about menstrual pain and its impact on work to create a workplace where women can work more comfortably.
On the day, in addition to lectures by an industrial nurse, practical training using napkins and tampons, simulated experience of menstrual pain using a dedicated device, and group discussions were held. Regarding the simulated experience, opinions such as "It's much more painful than I imagined" and "It's difficult to work in this condition" were expressed, deepening understanding of menstrual pain and increasing participants' support awareness.
We feel it was a very meaningful workshop where we could experience the simulated menstrual pain, which we cannot normally experience, and practice using napkins and tampons.
