Flora Inc. (hereinafter, Flora) conducted the event "Thinking Together About the Future of 'Sex and Life'" – I LADY. Peer Activist Training × Menstrual Pain Experience Workshop – hosted by Revise Social Insight (hereinafter, RSI), a voluntary organization originating from Rikkyo University's College of Business.
This event is a participatory program aimed at enabling students to proactively engage with "their own and others' bodies" through both learning about Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and gaining experiential understanding of menstruation.
**Background of the Event Implementation**
This workshop was planned with the aim of building upon the achievements of the exhibition "Let's Learn More About What We're Not Usually Taught. ~Menstruation Exhibition~" held at Rikkyo University in July 2025, to ensure that learning is not transient but leads to deeper understanding and dialogue.
Menstruation and physical discomfort vary greatly among individuals and are often "invisible pains" that are difficult for non-sufferers to understand. The students of RSI aimed to foster a campus culture where people can understand each other's bodies and ways of life, transcending gender and position, by sharing correct knowledge about SRHR and providing a space for empathy and dialogue through experience.
**Event Overview**
This event was held on December 8, 2025, at Rikkyo University's Ikebukuro Campus, organized and operated by students, led by RSI, a voluntary organization from Rikkyo University's College of Business.
By combining basic learning about SRHR with menstrual pain experience, it provided an opportunity for people, regardless of gender or position, to think about others' bodies and ways of life.
**Workshop Content**
On the day, RSI students took the lead, and with the cooperation of the Japanese Organization for International Cooperation in Family Planning (JOICFP) (I LADY. Project), basic knowledge about SRHR and social issues surrounding menstruation were shared.
Following this, Flora conducted a "Flora-led Menstrual Pain Experience Workshop" using a low-frequency therapy device provided by Flora. By simulating a part of menstrual pain, participants experienced the physical burden that sufferers feel daily, deepening their understanding of "invisible pain."
In the latter half of the workshop, a group discussion session was held based on the experience, where participants shared their feelings and insights. Through these three elements – learning, experience, and dialogue – it became a place for people, regardless of gender or position, to think about each other's bodies and ways of life.

**Participant Voices and Survey Results**
A total of 38 participants, including undergraduate students, graduate students, and university staff, both male and female, attended. Not only Japanese students but also international students participated, and participants from diverse backgrounds formed groups for lively discussions.
In the survey conducted after the workshop (31 responses), it was confirmed that the understanding of SRHR and menstruation significantly improved compared to before participating in the event.
While many participants answered that their understanding was moderate (5 points or less) before participation, approximately 60% of all participants gave high ratings of 8-10 points after participation, suggesting that the program combining experience and dialogue contributed to promoting understanding.
In addition, the following comments were received in the free-response section.
