Bitkey and Alpha Launch Jointly Developed Smart Lock "edLock Connect Bitkey Edition" for Residential Use

Bitkey Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Masanori Houtsuki; hereinafter referred to as "Bitkey") announces the launch of the residential smart lock "edLock Connect Bitkey Edition" (hereinafter referred to as "this product"), jointly developed with Alpha Corporation (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; President & CEO: Tetsuyuki Tsukano; hereinafter referred to as "Alpha"), starting June 11th.

■ Features of This Product

"edLock Connect Bitkey Edition" is a smart lock that enhances the functionality of Alpha's "edLock Connect" by incorporating a Bluetooth communication module that links with Bitkey's "homehub."

1. Enhanced Convenience with Diverse Unlocking Methods and Digital Keys

In addition to traditional unlocking methods such as PIN codes, IC cards, and mobile FeliCa, this product newly supports unlocking via a smartphone app. This allows each family member to unlock the door using their preferred method according to their lifestyle. Furthermore, by integrating with the "homehub" app, digital keys can be issued with specified dates and times, or with a limited number of uses. This enables temporary access for sudden family visits while you are out, or for service providers like housekeepers when you are away. Since these are digital keys, there is no risk of unauthorized duplication.

2. Updating Smart Lock Value Post-Installation through "homehub" Integration

Integration with "homehub" continuously enhances the value of the smart lock even after installation. It links with real estate industry systems such as viewing reservation and property management systems, thereby improving the operational efficiency of management companies. It also supports "homehub inHome Service," a service for utilizing housekeepers or pet sitters during absences, contributing to increased property value. These linked systems and services are scheduled to be added sequentially.

3. "Type-C Power Supply" Support for Peace of Mind Even in Case of Battery Depletion

This product can be used for approximately one year with four AA lithium batteries. However, in the event that battery replacement is forgotten, it can be powered externally via a USB Type-C port using a mobile battery or similar device to activate the main unit. This significantly reduces the burden on management companies and owners, such as in responding to lockouts late at night or on holidays.
