○ What is "Tokyo Pride 2026"?

"Tokyo Pride 2026" is an event aiming to realize a society where people with diverse identities, including LGBTQ+, can live "authentically, joyfully, and proudly," and to solve various human rights issues. Starting in 2012 as "Tokyo Rainbow Pride," its name was changed to "Tokyo Pride" from 2025. It is held annually in conjunction with Pride Month in June, centering on the traditional "Pride Parade" and "Pride Festival." The theme for 2026 is "A Future Opened by Diversity and Equality." It provides an opportunity for many people, including the LGBTQ+ community, various organizations, government agencies, companies, Allies, and embassies, to think together, deepen their understanding of human rights issues, and contribute to the elimination of prejudice and discrimination. As part of creating an environment where diverse people can easily participate, efforts are also being made to raise awareness of "intersectional human rights issues," such as setting up wheelchair priority areas and providing sign language interpreters for all stage content, to create an inclusive space for everyone.

◼︎ Background of BASE's Sponsorship Project

BASE aims to realize a society where all people can thrive, based on its mission "Payment to the People, Power to the People." Our mission presupposes a society where diverse people can live autonomously, and beyond the realization of this mission, we believe there is "a society where everyone can live with ownership of their own lives." This fundamental belief is communicated as our Foundation, "We are All Owners."

As part of our initiatives to embody this value, we are promoting DE&I (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) both internally and externally, and our sponsorship of the "Tokyo Pride 2026 Pride Festival" is one of these important initiatives.

In previous sponsorships, we have communicated our DE&I and Ally (a stance of supporting social minorities) initiatives through booth exhibitions and online seminars inviting LGBTQ+ experts, with the cooperation of shop owners using our online shop creation service "BASE." This year, building on these achievements, we will again exhibit a booth and, as a new initiative, conduct a practical online workshop.

The content of this workshop will be introduced and exhibited at BASE's booth at the "Tokyo Pride 2026 Pride Festival."

In business contexts such as product development and marketing, we may unconsciously overlook someone's voice, causing value that should have been delivered to not reach them. This workshop aims to address such issues.
