Beyond Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shuhei Koike) is launching a non-repayable scholarship project centered on 'transfer study abroad,' a path still not widely known in Japan. The application period runs from March 31 to April 20, 2026, and is open to individuals aged 18 and older, as well as holders of a high school equivalency certificate. Compared to other Asian countries, the number of Japanese students pursuing study abroad remains low. Per capita, the number of students studying in the U.S. from South Korea is approximately 7.6 times that of Japan, and from China, it is about 1.8 times (Open Doors 2024). Furthermore, a 2024 survey by 'Tobitate! (Leap for) Study Abroad JAPAN' indicates that 'financial reasons' is the number one cause for students giving up on studying abroad. Amidst the ongoing weak yen and rising tuition costs, there is a pressing need for a system that ensures opportunities are not closed off due to economic circumstances.

Application Form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdB3lyAIvbL8zHJ0ho4PogG7fiuB4w3bUTNvwoWGoHhxsDvIA/viewform Scholarship Overview This scholarship is specialized for students transferring from American community colleges to four-year universities in North America. Beyond Japan will also provide two years of free comprehensive support, including application preparation, course registration, extracurricular activity guidance, and transfer essay editing. What is the Transfer System? "The optimal route to prestigious North American universities, not just for the elite."

This system allows students to study their first two years at a community college and then transfer to the third year of a four-year university upon meeting specific grade and extracurricular requirements. Compared to entering a four-year university as a freshman, this can reduce tuition costs by over 10 million yen over two years. Additionally, because only the achievements at the community college are evaluated after arrival, anyone can aim for admission to prestigious universities regardless of their high school grades.
